Kangaroos vs. Essendon

Post: # 535998Post gO.SainTs »

I actually have a feeling that this match will be a close one, seeing Essendon in the semi-final against us. I also heard that they could be a chance for the finals this year, but I think that the Roos can take it over the line

How do you think the Bombers will go? I think we might be seeing a whole new Essendon side this year :?

i actually picked the bombers.
if they play like they did against us in the NAB cup i think they can knock off the roos and collect the 4 points.
looking forward to bagging out on the couch and watching this game.
if i lived in Melb i reckon id pop down for a looksy too.
hmm essendon in the 8 huh, i reckon they have a sniff, maybe sneak into the eighth posi or just miss out...
i'll tip that they just miss, like we have done so many times.

Yeah I reckon it would happen, they might just sneak in at the end of the season. By the way, does anyone have the sides for the game?

Gee, I reckon the Kangas are specials. Very dubious about the Bombers.

Let's see who gets to say "I told you so" later

I went for a punt with the bombers...
I am hoping they pull through 7 looks a lot better than 6 on the old tipping sheet

looks like the days over for Scottie Lucas already at quarter time.
they're saying he has a knock to the knee, but it did look like he landed straight legged.
He's sitting on the floor near the bench with an ice pack on his left knee
anyway the roos are up by 3 goals

I tipped the bombers purely based on the NAB performance. Although, looking at the score i should of tipped the roos.

Hopefully, its nothing too serious for Lucas. I dont like to see too many injuries in the first round of footy.

bombers up by 7 at ht, need this tip for a 6, hope they can hang on

over the course of the year ud think the roos will win more than the dons, so a win to the dons could be better ud think

A couple of things...

My wife is a Kangas supporter. She is absolutely spewing about Tim Watson's one eyed commentary - I have to agree with her - it is very biased. It is usually only worse when he comments on a Saints game.

I wonder if anyone has this statistic? How many goals has Matthew Lloyd kicked and how many of them are from free kicks?

If Plugger had such an easy ride from the umpires as Lloyd does he would have kicked 1700 - 1800 goals. And worse still Fletcher and Michael mug everyone up the other end and get away with it!

I think I just heard that he elbowed someone in the face and he got the kick, but lucky he missed :? But then they just scored 2 more goals...come on Kangas ><

he's kicked over 830
roughly has about 200 free kicks awarded to him.
to find out how many goals he's kicked form frees is a toughie, not quite sure where that stat could be found

he has actually given away more frees then he has received . (roughly 230)

come on bombers, they turned it up a notch in the last 20 minutes, hopefully they dont run out of gas

heres his total free kick count:

1996...0
1997...0
1998...17 in 23 games. 70 goals 38 behinds
1999...19 in 22 games. 87 goals 40 behinds
2000...31 in 25 games. 109 goals 60 behinds
2001...18 in 21 games. 105 goals 36 behinds
2002...17 in 16 games. 47 goals 29 behinds
2003...18 in 22 games. 93 goals 30 behinds
2004...29 in 24 games. 96 goals 39 behinds
2005...23 in 20 games. 59 goals 29 behinds
2006...3 in 3 games. 13 goals 3 behinds
2007...27 in 19 games. 62 goals 30

above is reg season and all finals. no pre season cup....

All over, bombers too quick, too strong and they wanted it more...
Poor coaching by Laidly, I wonder how quickly they will be written off by the media.
My opinion for them hasn't changed at all after this game, they will be from 6-10 IMO...
I don't know what it is about them but I really enjoy watching them lose...

It has to be Laidley. Can't stand him.
