The last time that Collingwood knocked us out of the finals was 1939.

In what years have we knocked them out of the finals in the last 70 years?

They knocked us out in '39 but since then we have knocked them out five times.

65, 66, 72, 92 and 08.

They beat us once in that time, the second semi in '66 but obviously that wasn't a knockout game.

OK
(Ignoring wars) we have had four home grounds
- Junction Oval
- Moorabbin
- Waverley
- Docklands (please don't call it Colonial or Telstra or Jihad).

My question is,
what is the most number of consecutive games we have played at each venue ?

Is this what you mean?

8 at Docklands in 2000 Round 5 to Round 12
5 at Waverley in 1993 Round 10 to Round 14
3 at Moorabbin in 1988 Round 3 to Round 5

That is exactly what I mean kft23.

You are correct on Docklands and Waverley.
That 8 in a row is just amazing.

More research reqd on Moorabbin and Junction Oval.

I couldn't find any more than 3 at Moorabbin.

And we played 4 quite a few times at the Junction Oval between 1897 and 1923 but people would think I was a freak if I wrote that.

Kft23 you are right about the 4's at the Junction way way way back when.
I found 3 of them.
But the best at Moorabbin was 4 in 1970.

Here's the list ...

Junction Oval 4
- 1897 R5-R8
- 1899 R5-R8
- 1900 SR2-SR3 (Section pre finals rounds) to 1901 R1-R2
Moorabbin 4
- 1970 R4-R7
Waverley Park 5
- 1993 R10-R14
Docklands 8 (yes EIGHT)
- 2000 R5-R12

Over to you.

According to AFL tables, round 6 1970 was at the Lake Oval.

Yes, and checked "Every game ever played".
It was definitely Lakeside.
I was working off a database given to me by an AFL statistician.
Obviously not bug free !
Thanks.

Round 19 1988, Robert Harvey and Brett Bowey both debut for the Saints.

Between them they played 468 games.

Name the last player to debut before these two and the first player to debut after them.

Between them they played 2 games.

No, but you can use a reference.

Sounds like you're on to it.

R15 Peter Freeman
R21 Glenn Macmillan

Both members of the "Zager and Evans" club.

McMillan yes,
Freeman no.

One more player made their St.Kilda debut between round 15 and round 19, and Freeman played more than one game for the Saints.

If I'm not right - that's ok But I might jump in with a question before I forget it..........

In which game did Jason Gram and Jason Cripps both play........

Mark Dwyer was a sensation when he started with Fitzroy in 1986. Played the last 8 games of the season and scored 10 Brownlow votes.

As stated above only played two games in '87 and came to us in '88 for that one game.

Cripps retired in 2002.
And Grammy started with Brisbane (seniors) in 2003.
So they never played in an AFL game together.

Must be a trick question.
A pre-season game in 2002?
Or a junior game in Gippsland?

What was unusual about our 1948 Round 9 game v Carlton at Princes Park that took 59 years to resolve ?
