Im glad our club doesnt need a midfielder like that.
And im also glad we dont need to have any games that draw a 90,000 crowd.

Otherwise i sure would be feeling a little sick....
Still glad now that he has done the hammy?

of course its a calculated risk, just like judd with his dodgy shoulders in 2001.
But nothing ventured, nothing gained.

The fact that the tigers are paying him the same wage we are for a bloke like CJ, I know i'd be happy to roll the dice.

Even if he's out for a month, he'll still have more useful possessions for the year than CJ when he gets back.

I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.

I know how Dal feels.

Yep, or the hammy will go again, and the club will deflate even further...

Just maybe the Saints were a little worried about those hamstrings!

ok worse case he has played his one and only game for the tigers.

He has effectively been a very successful mascot for the club, injecting a whole pile of money into Richmond this year.

Still a win i reckon.

Please don't have Harves in the circle singing the song.

Just don't Harves... don't do it!

If Harvey had a year off after the biggest send off of all time, I'd feel a lot better about it.

In his book & on that footy doco that was on the other night, ( & numerous other occasions) he has stated that he was going to get away from footy for a while & perhaps travel, etc.
And after releasing a book using The St.kilda motto (not his) as it's title & having a year long & country wide send-off, which he absolutely relished, He runs straight to the proven cheats of the competition.
We have every right to feel betrayed.

You make your statement as if he'd done something he hated for 21 years & all for free!.... & he did it for us! Ummmm... Hello?

& I'm sure there were many opportunities presented to him as way to make a living (including at St.Kilda) post football.

You speak as though he was on the verge of being broke and destitute & The good ol' Navy Blues, out of the goodness of their hearts, have thrown him a life-line.

Are you serious?... I mean, really?

No, what I mean is he owes us nothing. He played his heart out for 21 freakin' years. He wants a living post his playing days in footy, which means coaching in some capacity. As such, an AFL team offered him a coaching position and he took it.

Ex players often take jobs with other teams. Our senior coach came from Sydney, and played with Fitzroy & Brisbane. Hardly a pure Saints pedigree.

Robert Harvey was, in most peoples opinion, The Greatest player to ever wear our magnificent jumper.
He was no ordinary player as was Ross Lyon, etc..
So in essence, He is to The St.Kilda football club what Sir Donald Bradman was to The Australian Cricket team. The Greatest.
But sadly, Harveys post playing career is extremely different to Sir Dons' as he stayed true to the Baggy Green. He would NEVER coach The Enemy England.
I really didn't believe Harves would do this, so what would I know.

Robert Harvey has to go out in the big bad world to learn his craft, it is a shame it has to be the Princess Park pricks. But if he doesn't go out and explore beyond the front gate he'd be like a bloke that marries his sister- he'll limit the gene pool too much. I would not want him learning from RL either imagine when Ross goes we get Harves playing the same old s*** we've put up with this long.

I think people thought similarly about Baldock once and his experiences at St Kilda wont the greatest. Id hate to see Harves stay away from the club after that sort of experience. He gives himself the opportunity to be in a position to take over the coaching one day without being an inexperienced coach.
The Pies are going to go down that path by the look of it and put in Buckley next year with no experience- it reminds me of T Watson and his "observing the game from the outside is as good as coaching experience" idea. Voss might start a trend if he goes well but it would be more about what legacy has been left for him than any great ideas IMO.

Good luck Harvs - hope carlton get you that elusive long waited for premiership - as long as it doesn't deny us one!

re Cousins - s*** guys - first game for over a year, obviously not fully fit, playing in a team whose moral was shot by the second quarter - 12 disposals -92% effective - did fine unless you fell for the hype.

and hasn't sheedy's call turned out to be 'schwabesque' !

Cant believe you would hope for Carlton to win a Premiership.
It is not within me to even process that line of thought, it is just beyond me.

Am I too one-eyed, passionate, Dyed-in-the-wool, Fanatical, live & breathe Red, White & Black, St.Kilda?

Maybe I need to try & tone my passion down as there is no way known I'd EVER wish them a Premiership. I cannot comprehend how you or any other Saints supporter would.

Maybe it's because i'm not victorian? My brother followed collingwood so i grew an affection for carlton in the late 70's-early 80's - only around finals times.
But Harv's more than any one involved in footy deserves a prem!

I'm perfectly fine with it. Some of you need to take some time out and realize Harvs is well entitled to do whatever he friggin likes!

How good would it be to concentrate on working with another club without feeling some allegiance to them and working purely on the job at hand? No relationships with current players etc. I was stoked seeing Harvs there last night. The bloke is a champion of our club above all else! Take a nice big deep breath and get over it ;)

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
