Query for Sainters in the USA
Gday Folks
The old Jiggster enjoyed a great day at the Dome yesterday! Looking forward to next Saturday night too!
I'm off to the the States in May/June and will miss the games against Essendon, Brisbane, and Melbourne. I was wondering if there are any Saints Supporters in the States who can give me any assistance in finding out what (if any) TV channel the Saints games are shown on.
Cheers
Dave

G'day Dave
Please PM me when you are here; I'd love to catch up with another Sainter at least on the phone. Always good to hear another fan's favourites, thoughts, great memories, etc.
The only channel with footy on is Setanta. They announce which games they will broadcast about 2 weeks before, so you never know if the Saints game will be shown or not.
There is an "AFL Highlights" package on Setanta, but it only lasts one hour and only shows some of the games - some of the games it discusses happened in the last round, but weren't over by the time they made the video.
There is an international broadcast associated with the AFL site. However, MANY of us have had such severe problems with it - the buffering is only one aspect of a very problematic system - that we stopped watching altogether.
I paid a fair bit last year to join the AFL international broadcast. It was very very disappointing. Sometimes, the broadcast would break down 5 mins before the end of the game. Sometimes, the the buffering problems would let you see 20 seconds of play, and then wait a minute... etc. Terrible, and basically unwatchable.
Edit: there are some other ways people may be using to watch footy ... it might be best to discuss these over PM.

Cheers guys!
Are there any Saintsational posters in New York City? We're there for the game V Melbourne, and I seem to remember someone tipping me off about an aussie bar (in the village?) where they show AFL games.
I'll be setting the VCR and getting family to tape some games while we're away but it would be great to be able to see 'em live!
Thanks for your kind responses anyway Much appreciated.
