Why?

Post: # 858311Post Maxstar22 »

I just thought I would share this with you all.

Just been on facebook chatting to an interstate friend when up pops another message from someone who I haven't spoken to in at least 12 months. I think "oh this is nice, time for a catch up chat".....

Their message "The Cats are better than the Saints"

Speechless...why would someone do that

There's no licensing laws for being an a**hole - anyone can be one.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Why? Because they are a smartarze...........

Unfortunately, we saints fans have to "Grin & Bear It" until we get another shot at the Big One !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

I'm with you there maxstar.

I have certainly learned a lot about my friends since that dreaded day and even on that dreaded day.

People will say to you, "get over it". They are probably not a true Saints person or they are trying to get a rise from you.

I have a multitude of stories like that and I reckon most posters on here have had similar experiences.

We just have to wait for that day when we actually win the flag, and you know what......I will share my joy with the people that count.

Hang in there, maxstar. Our day will come.

Needless to say, I have not responded.

Not only that, this person doesn't even follow AFL, so they can't even back that stupid and hurtful statement up.

Thanks guys....I knew you would understand.

Not sure why statements like that hurt me more now than they ever did.

When I was the only Stkilda supporter in both primary and secondary school, comments like that used to just roll off me. Now, they almost bring me to tears

That's what makes it worse. They think they are cool by saying things like that but if they really understood, they would have more diplomacy. I won't say get over it because I know how you feel.

Personally, I think people should have nothing but respect and admiration for St kilda fans.

For we show an amazing strength of character for having so much passion and loyalty for a club that has delivered very little.

So instead of 'taking the p!ss' they should be 'taking their hats off'

Stand tall Maxstar22, being a Saints fan makes you far superior than them

Least I have friends and don't have to resort to making stupid statements on a forum to make myself feel good

You know, I don't even know why I bothered replying to this, just validates some ppls egos.

Hope you feel superior there Bernard

I learnt to accept a long time ago that the ones that bag/comment or stir over things that arn't trivial like an ordinary game of home and away - arnt real supporters.

There is a mutual respect amongst real supporters of different clubs - because if they truly knew the feeling, they wouldn't do it. ie players leaving, finals losses etc.

Learn to ignore it - You dont get into bagging rights/football discussion with no brain fair weather supporters....Because at the end of the day, football isn't as important to them so your just wasting your time as your own expense.

This is the good thing about living in Perth with neither of the Western Australian teams in the top eight - few people care about the football after round 22.

My mates - not a lot of whom are too interested in footy I should add - were very good about the Grand Final though and told me they were sorry the Saints didn't win. I think most people - at least over here anyway - were hoping the Saints would win.
