Collingwood will choke with the expectation that will now be heaped on them.

Me either. Let all the media jump on the Collingwood bandwagon.

I keep my seat on the saints bus thanks very much.

we can only hope, mate.

an ominous statistic was that the last time they were on top of the ladder this late in the season was 1990. Bleh!

Three words:

The GABBA factor.

Yup. plus two consecutive six day breaks and a third one coming up PLUS the flu thing....a horrendous draw.

How they respond will be the key...so we will find out on Friday....

The flu, 3 players underdone....but we have to get games into our best 22, it's far more important that still not knowing who that 22 is IMO.

How true the OP is! How many on here thought we were a shoe-in for the flag at this stage last year? It COULD well be that the Pies are the real deal, or Geelong or Freo Or hawthorn ...OR! US!!!!!!!
the fact is no one will know until the final siren on that last saturday in september..the point now is to get enough wins to be there on that last day in september..Simple? eh?

They were on top after round 16 in 1966. They also beat us by eleven goals during the season.

If that isn't an omen, I don't know what is.

Yes we were well down but had we kicked 16 goals 6 we would have still won the game.

Kosi, Gram and Roo were all underdone - Dal missed.
Also maybe McEvoy deserves the nod ahead of Kosi ? .. whilst Kosi finds form with Sandy ?

We had a couple of passengers .. maybe tired after Gabba ?
Ray for instance had an unusually quiet game.

Montagna and Schneider kicked 6 behinds and no goals.

the only way is up .. even if we lose against the Hawks next week whilst we tweak things and find form - it's no big deal.
:)

It's plainly obvious that the Gabba game conditions took a bit out of the team and there were a few tired bodies yesterday, even in the first quarter. We won't play like that again this season. Come September it's a whole new ball game.
