I heard some whispers that Joey & Jobe Watson may not play on Friday.

Does any one have any more info on this?

I said Jobe Watson from Essendon not Joey Watson. Also I heard that Joey will not play for us.

Not hard to see why if true, Joey really hurt his groins, and Jobe suffered a pretty bad calf injury.

Jobe has a habit of playing very well against us.
Wouldn't be too upset if that rumour was true...

Yep..look at the grimace on Joeys face when he did the splits thanks to that God-awful playing surface.

Wouldnt surprise me at all if they wrap him in cotton wool this week

Joey will be rested this week.

Don't care about Watson. Son of a Saints coach isn't he?

Watson and Winderlich would be handy outs. Can't see them possibly beating us if those 2 miss

Bombers have fixed us up past 2 times...wouldnt surprise if they really push us. We HAVE to make a statement this game.

Why?

Bulldogs, Pies, Cats are all making statements now, does that make them any closer to a flag than we are?

We were making all the statements this time last year and it counted for shiit all.

As long as we win, no injuries, and Roo Gram Kosi and everyone else runs into form, we can win by 1 point and i'd be content.

Statements are for the big colourful pictures in the newspapers, they are not necessary for our footy club.

Would be nice too see us touch someone up with a comprehensive performance though for a change. I've got serious doubts our current form will win us anything in September. I know we can turn it on then, but I'd like too see us show that form once or twice before the finals. Can't just flick the switch come september....we'd want to start seeing some big improvements over the next fortnight

All these other top sides are destroying sides. Have had a close look at the dogs the last fortnight, and they are playing great footy. Doesn't matter that they haven't beaten the good sides yet...we said that about Collingwood 2 weeks ago and they slaughtered us. Dogs current form will hold up with the best

What matters is not pumping a bottom team, but beating a top team.

Doggies for example have always looked good against teams that don't exert pressure against them.

Their current form might however whats the chance they will still be in this form in 6 - 8 weeks time??

Both the Pies and the Dogs are seemingly peaking already - bit too early perhaps??

As said elsewhere we are building nicely - both Roo and Gram took a another step towards peak fitness on Friday and their efforts were a marked improvement on prevoius weeks

Would be a smart move to give Monty a week off and don't be suprised if Hayes and Jones have a week off soon as well

Agree. We were good enough to win 19 straight last year. Not that much has changed, though perhaps Ball is underrated as a loss.

I predict that the 2010 streak will start this week and extend into next season. Riewoldt and Grammy are just finding some form and everything is coming together nicely.

Even though Max didn't play a lot of games in his final year because of injuries, with the exception of the Sydney game, he was also very good and I think he has been an under-rated loss too.

Rested because of a groin because of a surface?

Lenny said today (in a press conference before training) that Montagna had pulled up well and would be a likely starter.

Which knowing St Kilda means he is no chance of playing
