Big Ben's goal

Post: # 990584Post DJKCR »

I thought it was a big point in our game. It was nice to see him carry the ball compose himself and slot one when we really needed it.

Absolutely crucial moment. Took it with a lot of poise even if I did think he ran too far.

Superb, came at an important time too... late in the second from memory, brought us to within a goal by the break.

Crucial moment, had plenty of time but did well to keep his composure. He'll play 200 games.

I was really worried that the umps whistle was going to make it come unstuck.
He must've come close to his full measure

I think he was alright. He ran for a long time, but was going quite slowly, so didn't cover as much ground as it seemed.

I thought so too, but on the replay it wasn't as bad as it seemed live. Perhaps just because he wasn't running that fast it seemed he ran further than he did.

I think you got it. Monty's run through the centre in R3 had me worried though. Phew!

I love that both our ruckman have the word 'forward' associated with them, Gardiner certainly played ruck/forward through most of his career, and Ben certainly did both as a junior.

Very capable of kicking a goal, and will need to do so next week, given Jolly and Brown are also dangerous in front of goal.

The nullification of Brown will be key to our chances.

Should have him covered in the ruck, but i fear he may stretch our defense when he floats forward.

We will need to plan for this... and I'm sure we will.

We've made Leigh Brown look like Jason Dunstall on 2 occasions this year...has to stop. Mind you, a free kick against or a report would have nullified his influence, as he's almost as filthy a player as Hille.

He showed a cool head with that goal.

Has come along in leaps and bounds this year , and especially the last few games, is really beginning to impose himself on the game.

Has real poise and a cool head under pressure does our Ben, just like Gards... worth his weight in gold.

I love - This is Ben's break out year - but - I am confident the next 10+ years will prove that he is in fact one of the greatest ruck/forward to have played for the RW&B

IMO Ben is one of the smartest plaers in our 22 now when it comes to play...

He just constantly makes very good decisions, has the abilty to seize up the moment ....and knows how to find team-mates in good positions.

Add to that his ground level work and tacking abilty and you get a lot to be excited about about with our ruck division.

Having him play with Gardi will continue to hone his ability to influence the game aroun the ground.

That goal was fantastic, all the doggies players sagged back because they didn't think he could kick well and he made them pay big time.

Clever of Big Mac to run 30m to get within range and make sure of it.

He needs to use that same kicking action from set shots and he could just win a premiership off his boot.

Like watching a lopsided emu run, but can't argue with the end result. Fantastic.
