Second Position?

Post: # 1857229Post StPeter »

A win against The Suns this week should see us in second position after the demolition of Brisbane tonight by Richmond.

It makes our win over Richmond look so much better too.

A bad loss could see us drop to 7th.

We trust those losses have been a significant part of the ongoing development of this side

More to the point however, which sides sitting outside the 8 would be in contention to play finals?

And which sides currently in the 8 would make way?

We can possibly put an end to Gold Coasts ambitions if we can win in a couple of days time

So a contender drops off

It is an unusual season also in respect to results however we are now in a position to control our own destiny (fingers crossed because it is St Kilda with the history we have)

Each win gets us closer to finals, that’s all I’m worried about, let’s bank the ones we can and hold on til September (October?)!!!

Profound, how did you get so knowledgeable, you can tell you've watched a lot of coach pressers.

Yes, we will move into 2nd if we win and remain that way unless the Eagles win by 200 points.

Want to watch the most boring and devious thing on television and probably in mankind's history, then tune into a daily live press conference at 11am.

Watch out. Every time we get down in the dumps we win and every time we get overconfident, we lose.
GC Suns always play good against us so they certainly cannot be taken lightly.
Having said that we have't had Ratts as coach before and we're breaking a lot of hoodoos.

I have a lot of faith in this team. More importantly, this team has a lot of belief in each other. They will play well.

Yeah the delayed start to the season was good for the Suns young guys but now they are getting tired as they would’ve at this stage of a normal season. They won’t be able to keep up with us.

Should win by 6 goals or more

Agree that the Suns may be getting a bit tired as the season goes on but the same could be said about Saints if we make the finals against bigger bodies, more developed experience and skills etc.

I point win would do me but prefer six goals or more to keep my blood pressure down.

Don't jinx it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The proper response to any upcoming Saints fixture is the assumption we'll lose by 10 goals. That's rule one.

That way you're happily surprised if we win and smugly satisfied with your pessimism if we lose.

Sorry lol! Look, I’m not being cocky just confident. The Suns were very average against the Giants. They didn’t get smashed but they were never gonna catch up. I’ll be checking the score at work tonight as it’s live on 7mate as all Suns and Lions games are up here

Freo loss came after a 3 hr bus ride.

Then 2 trips to Adelaide,
then Swans (bus from Noosa to Gabba)

The support staff must have worked out the bugs in travelling, so that variable is taken care of.

As a long time Saints supporter I have leant the dangers of testing fate. It's been 9 years since we have won four in a row.

Another box ticked. The ‘ol 4 in a row hoodoo that lasted 9 years is broken :D
