Our footprint is bayside

Port Melbourne to Portsea

I live bayside and every third person I talk to is a sainter - only outnumbered by Collingwood supporters

Dingley/Moorabbin - is in the middle of nowhere

Collingwood have their admin and training facility at the Olympic Park precinct opposite Melbourne Park and Rod Laver arena and right next door to AAMI stadium

It's nestled between South Yarra and Richmond and the area is officially called Melbourne with a 3000 postcode

They're there thanks to Eddie and some cunning planning and his connections with the ALP in Victoria.

They are there because they are a club that acted for the benefit of their members from the get go and took a park in Abbotsford and stayed there for 100 years.

Need I remind you of alpaca paddock?

Eddie monetised the influence and the AFL formed with 6 power houses.

It has nothing to do with where they play or who against, it never has for them, they only care about winning.

Allan Jeans clearly got more control at Hawthorn, than he could at St.Kilda.

He always said that to be so. At the Save our Saints rally - he spoke about when he became senior coach - there was basically 3 clubs (u/19, reserves, and seniors) each with their own hierarchy inside the one club and that they would fight each other internally for the scare resources they had. i.e. they weren't all pulling in the same direction. It took Huggins and Drake to change that along with Jeans and even then it was an ugly change. And then it all went back to tish once Huggins, Drake and Jeans left.

Yabby made it a condition of his appointment at Hawthorn that Norm Goss be his Chairman of Selectors and he had the casting vote in Match Committee

I think he picked up on a legacy instilled by John Kennedy.

Regardless, when he took over St.Kilda he built a system we havent had before, we had been a rabble forever and within 4 years he had us playing in a grand final, within 5 we had our fist flag.

When he went to Hawthorn, they had an aging list of players who played in a flag in 78. They were staying. It only took 2 season.

Once he got control, he was entrusted to maintain it.

Better players is what all the premiership teams can claim for 1 year.

Hawthorn 61, 71, 76, 78, 83, 86, 88, 89.

Two great coaches, 2 outstanding eras

1992 - 2007 no where.

2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.

Hmm. Seems they got lucky 3 times in 50 years and managed to win premierships and attract talent.

We've had a few cracks, it's embarrassing really.
Was it Alves, Sheldon, Thomas or Lyon's fault.

We are about to find out, hopefully

We have to move away from the loser mentality that has kept us perpetually at the bottom of the ladder and stop looking for scape goats…it’s St Kilda and the club culture. If Lyon fails why is it all on him?

Because he stood up and said he was going to change the narrative.

I think it's called equalisation, $6 mill off the debt now is good, slow down.

Equalisation. It's gonna disappear, if you dont slow down.

Let's look good and knock a couple $M off, after another thrilling first half and see what 65000 fans and 5000 more at the footy does?

We got a golden ticket. (Clicks heals and swings cane)

Allen Joyce coached 2 of the Hawthorn flags

They were a super team

StK were also a great team
Jeans rise up the ladder coincided with the inclusion of

Baldock, Lawrence, Murray, Stewart, Ditterich etc… could name plenty more…

Great players make great coaches!
