Just anther example that being a AFL footballer doesn't automatically make you a role model.

The fact he was AFL footballer and a Aborigonal makes him a candidate to be a mentor??? Comeon when compared to someone like Xavier Clarke that does so much for his community.

Does anyone really care what an ordinary fringe Geelong player writes on myspace? I don't think there are too many people trying to model themselves in every way on Travis Varcoe.

When I read this title I thought it was for something I read post-draft last year.

I did a few myspace searches on some of the blokes picked and found James Sellar from the Crows.

Writing something about his favourite food he was referring to sushi as "That raw stuff that nips eat."

Funny enough, his profile has since been deleted.

Its a play on words for comic effect. Commonly, most know it as a "joke".

See, I know his name is "Varcoe", but it sounds like "Varuca" which is an STD. My infrence was that he is an itchy boil on societies backside.

OK now?

YES the site should be edited/closed down as he is a public figure.

NO it should not be more than an issue than it already is.

You don't mean "verruca", by any chance?

Mate, cheap puns only work if you spell 'em right.

First of all, I'm not your "mate".

Secondly, its not my problem if you don't understand a simple (albiet, rather poor taste) play on words, regardless of something as trivial as spelling.

Oh, and in regards to the post above yours - Racists get what they deserve, public figure or not. Anyone upholding racist language or poins of view, especially written for the world to see, indicating thier pride in such a disgusting point of view, is lower than snail droppings in my opinion, and I will not edit my opinion of them.

Thats it, I'm done.

First of all, I was being sarcastic.
riccardo wrote:Secondly, its not my problem if you don't understand a simple (albiet, rather poor taste) play on words, regardless of something as trivial as spelling.

Oh I understood it. I was just pointing out that in pointing out Varcoe's purported shortcoming (his name), you revealed your own (inability to spell everyday English words).

Nothing especially wrong with that - many people often misspell words. In fact, I spelt verruca with two Cs at first attempt. But in the context of your attempted pun, I thought it warranted a mention.

Isn't irony delicious? :)

Finally: lighten up. Your outraged, tough guy, take-no-prisoners persona is becoming tired.
