Foundation Social Club...whats on your card?

Post: # 520916Post saintsRrising »

I now have 5 Social Club Membership Tickets....

All are Foundation Members.

2 are adults, 2 squadron and 1 concession.

However on the back, the concession one states it is a Foundation Concession SC....whereas the other 4 do not mention the Foundation Status.

So if you are a Foundation SC Member....do you have or have not the word Foundation on the back of your membership card?

I am thinking that my 4 cards are wrong, but am interested as to what others have on their cards.

Thanks...

I think it is those who were members of the Social Club when the Social Club & Footy Club became a single entity (?? 1999-2000) !!

When the sainst looked liked they would bea chance of making the GF several years back the Club to try and get more SC members and hence $$ stated that if you joined that year (or before if you already wherea member) that you would becomea Foundation SC Member and would have priority access to GF tickets over SC who joined in subsequent year.

No. That was not the reason for term and status.

The foundation membership was implemented to give a "priority" to longer-staning SC memebrs above more recent SC members if we made a GF. That was the only time that status had any meaning.

Now that we have capped the SC membership at 8500 to ensure ALL SC members get a GF ticket Id imagine the "Foundation" status will be phased out.

true...but why on some tickets and not others????

Or for some reason is it only on Concession SC??

fair point saint66au.
But I think the "foundation status" of these members must just be there to show gratitude/recognition for the commitment these "founding" social club members show...

Foundation here and nothing on the back of my card.

I was under the impression that foundation membership was being maintained even though sc membership had grown ?( those that were foundation were guaranteed GF tickets - left over sc wen into a ballot??)

I'll be mighty p!ssed if by miracle we make a GF and the club dont recognise the loyalty of long terms members.

My social club card DOES say "Foundation Adult 11 Social CLub Member" on the back.
Possibly its something to do with the Adult 16's only??

It doesn't surprise me that things have been stuffed up, my card arrived in the mail and said i needed to ring and pay before the card became "active". This was 3 weeks after I had renewed my membership over the phone.

Mine does say Foundation Social Club Adult on the back and like saint24601 mine had to be activated too so maybe it was only on the cards printed later because we didn't sign up straight away?

It would appear so......as the one card I have that has Foundation on it was my daughters who was done seperately.

So it would appear there has been a stuff up.

Just called the club and they said that foundation members is still going, but 99% of foundation members did not get it printed on their cards. But on the system we are still foundation social club members and DO get priority tickets in the event of a grand final . I hope this makes sense.
