Cloke match-up

Post: # 641373Post lewdogs »

Last time we played them we had Blake on Cloke and he got killed. I guess Maxy will take him this time...but it is so important we win this battle, if we can take Cloke out of the game I think we should win.

Thoughts?

Max should take the best tall Pies forward.

Max or Sam Fisher should get the job.

Hi think John Anthony is becoming someone to be wary of also, played most of career as a defender so seems to be able to shake a tag? He's kicked 2+ the last 5 games...

John Anthony - Hudghton (Anthony stays close to goal and doesn't lead too much)
Cloke - Gilbo (Cloke is damaging when accelerating and marking off a lead - Gilbo is quicker than Max)
Medhurst - S Fisher would be a good matchup, but when we need him in the midfield, Raph could do the job [ie is quick enough to keep up and can outmark him one-on-one]

The wild-cards for them are their youngsters Dawes and McCarthey - don't know much about them...I think one of them kicked a few on us last time we played them...

Maxwell did a number on Scott Thompson last weekend and may well be used on Dal as a floating forward, if Dal plays HB. May try and expose Dal's supposed defensive weakness. Hint hint.
