Player Numbers 2011

Post: # 1025110Post SaintSimmo »

Will there be any key changes??
Key numbers vacant atm:
2,8,9,35

Will all/any of these be filled this year?

Players who could possibly change numbers:
Simpkin
Stanley
Smitn

Then there is the draftees but they will not get these number....Gamble might though.

My predictions:
2 - Stanley
8 - Simpkin
9 - Gamble
31 - Cripps
34 - Polo
35 - Vacant
36 - Crocker
40 - Ledger
42 - Siposs

Thoughts?

I think Gwilt will be offered a new number, though I quite like 33.

Its hardly critical but I'd like to see someone a little better than Gamble get No. 9. Maybe Cripps as our No. 1 pick? After all McEvoy got 5 and Winmar 17.

Otherwise your selections looked pretty good.

As long as they use 35. Its just a bloody number. Use them all up until at least 44.

Maybe with Harves hanging around again he can convince them to do just that p66. I doubt he's precious about it at all.

He certainly does not want it kept out of circulation and would just like it allocated as a number, which in fact is all it is.

in the end its really ony us fans that get caught up in the whole thing

Hey bergholt, you've taken Tommy W's number and given it to the Joker's 3rd cuz.

What number are you giving to the Irishman?

hm, yeah, fair point. let me try again:

2 Ryan Gamble
8 Rhys Stanley
9 Dean Polo
28 Tom Simpkin
31 Aaryn Siposs
34 Sam Crocker
35 Jamie Cripps
37 Tom Ledger
40 <rookie 1>
43 <rookie 2>
45 <rookie 3>
46 <rookie 3>

now has the nice property that all the new rookies are up over 40.

2 - Cripps
8 - Gwilt
9 - Stanley

The rest can please themselves. And I'd like to see 35 go to a Saints supporter (perhaps Sipposs), like they did with Grammy taking No. 1.

Gamble and Polo should be given high numbers, the same as the other draft picks, it should be humbling, and perhaps give them something to work towards.

I would like for Robert Harvey to select who gets 35. Would be interesting to see who he presented it to.

What about Cripps and Sipross get 2 and crocker gets 9. Get on these numbers. As certain as we will only draft 4 at the most in the main draft.

Are these numbers locked in p66?

I like them a lot!

Nice show of faith to offer Raph a lower number...

I am glad Gwilt stayed 33 though, some people own a number after a period of time and nothing else would seem right :)

couple of draftees must be highly rated to get such high numbers. Hopefully the number change brings better luck for raph.

I recall Raph always wanted the number 8... When he arrived and Max obviously held the number, I remember reading an article where he said he was happy with 16 cos it's twice 8... Finally got his wish... This is his year to step up...
