Info please on Family Day, Mar 13

Post: # 1044635Post avid »

Can someone tell me what's happening on Family Day on Mar 13?
No info that I can find on the St Kilda website.
Where? -- presumably Franga.
When?
What actual activities are there?

Contemplating the long drive, but want to know what we're heading for.

Thanks!

What's parking like around the area?
Or is it better to catch the train?

They usually have a bunch of marquees setup around the oval. One is the heritage museam, some for the sponsors, one for merchandise, another for scarf pickup.

They setup queues to get autographs from the players, but get in early because you may wait in the queue for a hour and not get an autograph.

And they do the jumper presentations..

There is not really a car park, you generally have to park in the streets around the oval. Train might be easier for some but if you're in Pakenham that would be a looong train ride?

I wonder why it wasn't held at the new oval.

cr@p load of tents.
Huge queues.
The odd sighting of a player - long line ups mean you may never see one.
Jumping castle for kids, small rides and takeaway food.
Parking - street based usually not to bad.

Should be at Moorabbin.

But if not, surely it would be at our new Seaford facility rather than Boganville??

Unless you have young kids who will enjoy the rare clinic and activities it is a waste of time.

Signatures impossible. You'll spend 3 hours cueing up.

I do usually go to purchase cheap merchandise.. Usually previous years stuff. Come back a lot poorer for the experience.

To hold it at Seaford they'd have to seriously expand the carpark, and even then there's the sizable problem that there is street it is on is very narrow. It'd make getting in and out of Moorabbin look like the Frankston Freeway

Easily an 2 hours easy from Narre Warren.
All I really want to do is get the scarf.

was typing a big long post but then decided

each to their own- if you really wish to attend you will find a way- if not then that's your choice-

it can be a nice day out wandering around and maybe catching a player or two- some specials, seeing what else the club is involved in.

taking in the atmosphere....
I'll be there..

I am curious to see the new Seaford facility.

Why isn't it an open day at Seaford to allow us to inspect this "glamorous" new facility?

I WOULD have gone today to collect my scarf but as the club couldn't be bothered getting my card to me by now, I can't be bothered making the drive today.

Nah, just go along, give them a serve and you should get a scarf.

Remember they only cost the club two bucks to purchase from China!
