Archer to hold his spot, so unlikely Kosi will be in. Steven on HF line. ANd where is Hille in the Essendon team?

He pulled out late before they played the Swans and still wasn't right this week. Forget what he had done

Big Mac, Archer, Stanley AND Kosi all named?

Don't expect Stanley to get in given what others have said of his VFL form - wouldn't be surprised to see one of Archer or Kosi left out also, otherwise we look mighty TALL!

WOuld expect to see both Steven and Schneider come in - good to see Smith and Winmar named though not expecting either to play.'

All in all, interesting and potentially a good compromise between returning experienced players, and an injection of youth.....

i guess they were working on the (decent) theory that the team was too tall and defensive and slow. blake wasn't helping the situation, whereas all the players who come in are somewhat attacking and quick. (keeping in mind that stanley won't play, and kosi's only likely to play if archer doesn't.)

Whilst Lynch may well of played better than Winmar on the weekend, the fact remains that Winmar the previous three weeks was fantastic.

Reckon Dempster may be in too try and stop Watson, as Jones has failed to do so.

Bit surprised at Winmar's selection.
In the last quarter for Sandy Winmar looked very proppy.

They put him on with about 5 mins to go and he could barely hobble.
Wound up taking him straight off again.

Disappointing for Lynch.

Final Ins and Outs should be
In: Kosi, Schnieder, Steven, Smith
Out: Hayes, Blake, Baker, Gamble (or Archer)

Surprising to see Stanley and Winmar listed, both had shocker matches, and lynch had a blinder and no look.

Archer shouldn't be in the side, but he has been named in the starting 22.

Lets all hope that Siposs has another ripper game for sandy this week and he may get a look in after the bye.

We had 8 defenders last week. Far too many. 2 left out, which brings it to the needed 6. Lynch was never going to get a spot in the back half.

Very harsh on Blake, though I'm glad to see some change. Peake is very lucky to hold his spot and it's good to see that Ross hasn't fallen back in love with McQualter and Eddy (yet). The fact that Archer and Steven are named on the ground makes that bench very interesting.

Schneider - A near certainty. If he can run out half a game then he has to play
Jones - Baker's injury may help his cause but he has been playing terribly and could get a hard wake up call by being omitted, though that could leave the team looking a bit too tall against Essendon
Koschitzke - It would seem extremely improbable that he'd play alongside Archer and McEvoy. Three big, slow and not particularly agile forward/rucks is too many. I expect he'll miss. A game or two in the reserves might be a good way for him to get some match fitness
Stanley - Been in poor form and seemingly overtaken by Archer, but could almost be a chance if they don't bring in Kosi and the team is already down a tall with Blake omitted. The fact that Blake is out and another tall defender (Simpkin, Lynch, Walsh) hasn't been brought in suggests that Gilbert probably won't play forward.
Smith - Could finally get his chance, IMO likely to take Baker's spot for this week. Pre season form was very strong and he has the body to stand up in the AFL. Super quick and attacks the ball strongly.
Winmar - Surely not going to play. Has skills but needs to develop. This selection is either a bit of encouragement for him or to please the fans and media for a day or two.
Gamble - Overall has looked pretty ordinary since his great mini-game against Brisbane in the NAB cup. Has squibbed a few contests, gone missing for long periods of the game and doesn't have the physical strength to apply good pressure on the opposition. He might look ok alongside a couple of gun key forwards in a winning team, but I don't think he'll be on the list next year. May get another game to prove himself or may already be on the outer.

My guess for the final bench

Schneider, Stanley, Smith, Jones (sub)

The end result could be completely different, but at least it does appear that we'll see at least one of Smith or Stanley as well as Archer and Steven.

1. We suddenly look MUCH younger
2. Can we go in with more than 1 one of Kosi, Stanley or Archer?
