You used the words "Kosi" and "frontal pressure" in the same sentence?

Didn't know he was injured. Hasn't appeared on the club injury list.

With regards to frontal pressure, he was recruited as a defender and is now a goalkicking forward. He would be 500% more effective than Kosi. Will is a big boy, no comparison to Schneider.

I read somewhere he pulled up with a sore knee? Can't remember where I read it, don't even know if it's true, but you'd think he would of at least travelled with the squad if he was right to go.

Not sure about injury or tackling technique, but definitely has the pace to apply pressure. Very quick over 30m

I would gather that given they also held back Blake from the Sandy game and thus had quite a few to choose from

If so then Will would need the training that the guys back in melbourne have been undertaking today and over the weekend so that a) he would be ready for next Sunday for Sandy
or B) available for the Saints on Saturday if need be with solid sessions behind him.

He is surprisingly quick and solid. That play where he took on Essendons backline in the nAB cup game, tapped it forward to himself under pressure from two defenders out ran them and kicked for goal was magic, would have been a goal of the year contender if it had sailed a bit starighter

It sounds so Bernard - I havent seen him but from what you and others have said he sounds reasonably mobile, hard at it, with good pressure skills (was a defender) for me we need that sort of "Hamil-type" (not saying hes that) but for me an Archer is a big option with little other strings to the bow...

Not mobile enough to offer any real fwd pressure is Archer for mine. To slow. hamill had the hurry up factor and was mobile.

Agreed. Archer is quite cumbersome for AFL level. He's been impressive for Sandy, but I just don't think he's agile enough for the big time.

Will Johnson would definitely be more capable of putting on forward pressure than Kosi. And for a young player, he's already developed a solid build and seems willing to use it.

He has very quickly developed a feel for the forward line.

All credit to him. Many would have doubted his capacity to remain on our list after 2011 but he's obviously worked his arse off over the summer. The signs are very promising at this stage.

Actually I have watched Aaron quite extensively Bernard and his game was built on physical agression and putting the opposition under percieved pressure. His kicking skills were average but his marking was quite strong.

IMO Archer has the capacity to develop these skills and use his size to provide a presence. He has demonstrated he has good skills over head and could with time be a good foward option.

But hey stick to your sarcastic one liners they're really all you offer around here

Archer is 10cm taller than Hamill, about 10kg heavier and 5 metres slower. He is no forward option at all.

Will has the height, weight and pace to be a very good asset, and I reckon we'll see him this week in Adelaide.

I've never said will won't get a shot or that Archer is currently a better option. Archer is a baby, my feeling is that he has demonstrated potential otherwise he wouldn't have been promoted let alone gotten a game. By Hamill type I mean someone able to physically intimidate opponents.

Just a question - if he's no forward option why was he selected there? I think Ross's email address is on the club site perhaps you should enlighten him with your wisdom.

Will had a great 09 season and a terrible 10. I can only assume he was carrying injury last year. But seems to have momentum and confidence growing now and is certainly the form/surprise player for 2011.

Has to be very very close to a game as a Forward. Certainly we have a position/opportunity there for him and he seems keen to grab it. Good on him. Go Will.
