Crunch game to make the finals or not

17 disp, 7 marks, 4 goals 2, 4 goal assists (so 8 goals contributed all up)

Fair point well made.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Do people still say he isn't a big game player?

I thought this myth was dispelled.

I think it may have returned after 3 unmemorable grand finals, followed by 1 goal from 5 games this year against the top 3 teams.
Last night was great, but we need him to do it against the "big boys", in the very biggest matches. North are clearly not in that league at this stage.
5 more like that please Milney.

Milne is a st kilda great and one of the great small forwards of the modern era.

talking about Phil Matera and Jeff Farmer as the only two other small forwards who have performed as well as Milne over their careers in the last 15/20 years.

How did the rest of the team go in the big games?

A forward kicks less goals in a game we lose compared to a game we win.

Shock horror.

How did the rest of the team go in the big games?
Some of them did brilliantly, some well, some poorly and some very poorly. Thanks for asking.

Just saying one player should not be punished for a team failure.

Yes I wish he scored 2 more goals in 09, and I wish he scored 1 more in GF 1 in 2010. Pretty much the same to Kosi, Roo, schneids etc etc.

If we don't win a premiership, we'll look back at 09 and 10 wistfully.

Milne is a champion!

One of the absolute elite all time best small forwards in the history of the game.

To think some goofball would have had him play his last game for St kilda in 2006.

Thankfully this buffoon was exited OUT and Milne exited back IN!

Roey on Game day said that Milne may be the greatest small forward of all time behind KB.

You are wrong. He played ok in the 2009 GF and even Grant "guru" Thomas admitted that he played well in the drawn GF.

Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.
