How is this stuff still allowed to continue?
Since the 'Saints Pre-Season From Hell', how is it that this type of reporting is allowed to continue?
Here's the headline on news.com.au....
"AFL player 'slapped woman' on Mad Monday"
With the sub-heading...
NOTORIOUS celebrations turn sour for Richmond's Angus Graham as club investigates alleged incident at hotel.
If people actually bother to read this trash, you then find out that ....
Graham doesn't remember it
There 'might' be CCTV footage of it
The girl has only chosen to speak to the Herald-Sun
The police have not been spoken to
I spoke to someone this morning whilst waiting for a coffee and as we were talking about the footy, he said "blah blah blah and that Richmond bloke belted that girl".
Jesus.
At this stage, there is simply one girl telling the Herald-Sun something. There is nothing to support it, nor anything to prove it wrong. There is nothing - yet they go with that headline! And dickheads at cafes take it for gospel!
I'm appalled by this. I can't believe that after what happened earlier this year, that this stuff can keep happening.

Why just point this reply out? The thread changed pretty quickly to a HS bashing (of which I condone) before plugger posted!Johnny Member wrote:plugger66 wrote:No one reads it but somehow every story is posted on here. Me thinks some and only some really do read it because they love to complain about it.
I have no idea what this post has to do with the OP.

I'm having a go at the media in general in this instance.

The Herald-Sun are part of the media. The quesiton I posed was how can the media continue to behave in this way.IluvHarvey wrote:Why just point this reply out? The following posts seemed to be of a similar nature, or at least on topic.
Plugger66's response is clearly a sarcastic dig at people who say they don't read the Herald-Sun. Whether people read the Herald-Sun or not, or they say they do or not is utterly irrelevant to this topic.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Sort of on topic, but this one annoyed me too.
5. Can the big boys stand up for St Kilda?
If it's tight, and there's every chance it will be, the Saints will need their leaders to take control. That means Nick Riewoldt, beaten by Ted Richards when the teams played last, and disappointing against the Kangaroos.

some women are too soft.
If it was the other way around not a word would be spoken of it. Just cop it and move on ffs.

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

We don't even know that anything has happened at all!snoopygirl wrote:Not the least bit funny dools, if it was your sister or mother I'm sure you wouldn't be making a joke about it.saintdooley wrote:some women are too soft.

That's the point.
A person has contacted a newspaper and told them that something happened. That's it.
And even after trying to confirm the story, and failing to get any confirmation whatsoever - they run a headline that states "Graham Hits Woman" or whatever they wrote!
That's disgusting. What if it's not true? They've already announced to Victoria via a headline that it's fact, when it isn't fact at this point.
It's disgusting.
There should be no reporting whatsoever of anything, until there is some form of confirmation as to what actually occurred.

I was referring to his comment about violence against women in general. I agree, the HS are very clever about making a story out of nothing.Johnny Member wrote:We don't even know that anything has happened at all!snoopygirl wrote:Not the least bit funny dools, if it was your sister or mother I'm sure you wouldn't be making a joke about it.saintdooley wrote:some women are too soft.

But , whatever ya do son ... DO NOT actually believe those words you wrote.
The womenfolk tear men apart before the men even know they were in a fight.
