Ray Gamble Peake & Polo ...Re-sign?

Post: # 1137862Post starsign »

Ray Gamble Peake and Polo are yet to resign
ie re-sign contracts for next season
Given we are not rolling in it financially at present do we resign or delist any/all?
what priority order would you put them in ?

Gamble Ray Polo then Peake for me with Gamble for delisting

so you have them in delist order

I'd be keeping Ray, Peake, Polo and then Gamble

Keep Ray

Maybe keep Polo

Delist Peake and Gamble.

If we keep Peake ill be extremely annoyed. 5 good games towards the end of this 2 year contract does not cut it for me. Dropped twice, dismal in finals. Kicking a big issue.

Ray is the most overrated player on here (possibly with the exception of Jones)... very rarely delivers decent output

i'd keep Polo

therest i'd decide on what we get

The only one I'd definitely keep is Peake.

Probably keep Ray.

The other two - definitely delist.

The keeping order for mine is: Ray, Peake, Polo...

Gamble doesn't even get on the list... He should not be retained under any circumstances... Polo is close to his level, but was occasionally serviceable, so he gets on the list...

However, realistically, we're not going anywhere with Polo in the side, so I'd be ditching him too... Or at the very least, giving pretty much every player on the list an opportunity ahead of him next year, and retain him as severe injury crisis back-up only...

Ray's handy enough, and is in our best 22... Needs to step up the output next year...

Ray kept with a view to delisting/trade next year. He just goes missing way to often.

Rest not going to improve our skills/list.

So with the departure of Blake, Baker, Gardiner, Eddie and McQualter, add those 4 thats a hell of a lot of drafting to be done.

Peake and Ray should stay, the other 2 you would want to make sure you have better replacements, otherwise they should stay on the list.

Keep Ray? You have to be kidding, I didn't see an effective disposal from him on Saturday night.... worst year yet at the Saints.....

I'd look at who potentially could push them out, and see how desperate the club is for guys that play their position.

Gamble would be competing with Siposs, Walsh, Lynch...even Cripps as a small forward/mid?

Polo would likely hand back to Lenny, but there is also Ledger that looks likely as an inside mid, and Armo that can play inside.

Farren and Peake have the least competition for spots I think, Winmar?

He wasn't on his own in that regard...

His upside is far greater than the other 3 mentioned...

Plus, we can't delist all 4, with 4-5 already gone...

So which 2 (minimum) would you keep out of the 4 named in the OP?

Ray showed so much promise in the first half of 09. Played some genuine high quality games.

Fast forward two years time, and you would be hard pressed to know he is even out on the ground. He has become invisible, and irrelevant

Peake plays some handy games, but is another who's skills are an abomination. Keep him before Polo and Gamble however

Polo is a nothing player,a gap filler. That's what he was recruited for I guess. He tries hard, but is yet another player with horrible foot skills. We have far to many, possibly the worst kicking side I have ever seen

Gamble- Was another donation to the TAB

Hard decision,

But if I had to choose 2 would be Peake and Ray (cringe), only cause of the calibre of the other 2.

From what they've shown this year, I'd certainly keep Peake, and reward Polo with another 1 year deal.

Ray, I'm not fussed either way, and I'd prefer to see the back of Gamble.

Ray could go to GWS.

He was a high draft pick initially (9 I think).

We may get a decent concession pick at a time when any reasonably high pick will be gold.

It may represent a win/win.

That said, I think he adds something to our side with his run and carry and he's a reasonable mark when his time comes. He's also toughened up a heap. I'm not sure the criticism of him in this thread is fair to be honest.

Gamble can go simply because Sipposs and Walsh are now more relevant.

Polo should stay. He treasured his spot, never shirked it and Ross would see value in a hard nut sticking around to haggle with Cripps, Crocker and Ledger for a spare mid spot.

Peake has done enough this year to warrant an extension for a year. He's been better than Gram.

If we could only keep 2 I would go Peake and Polo.
Ray would be clinging on and Gamble wouldnt be apart of the future.

Could see Pelchen get rid of all 4 though.

Ray might be worth something ... I'd try and trade him. If he gets traded, Peake stays. If Ray can't be traded, I'd keep one of him or Peake only.

Gamble and Polo are just keeping Siposs, Ledger and Cripps out of the side. Both should be cut.

No one else is going to GWS. Quoted from their CEO.

Missed that. When?

I think Ray plays the wrong position

should be on a HBF

can use his pace and marking without the added pressure of having to win his own ball
