Time Frame for a new coach?

Post: # 1150284Post thefatdork »

Hi All,
I know we have a selection panel in place and that there are potential candidates out there BUT has there been any indication of the timeframe that the club is working towards?
Still early - but would be good to have the new coach at least involved in some way in the draft/recruiting process in October.
Another thread reckons it will be announced today but I find that hard to believe???!!!!
Has the club given any indications of timing?
GO SAINTS

BTW - I think a Geelong victory is a lesser evil than Collingwood - it would be nice not to have gloating Pies supporters for the next 12 months.

they said 4 weeks when announcing the panel 1 week down

and I suggest they take the time..

damien b from all those shows and connected to hutchy suggests they wont get it done soon- but why short cut the process. and if time is an issue - freo certainly short cut it to 72 hours didn't they
or was it 5-6 weeks.

The Coaching selection panel was appointed early last week and clearly, a prompt appointment would be sought if practical to do so.

I assume that it would take the rest of the week to get "the criteria" together. Potential candidates would be known, so you would like to think that interviews could commence this week. The end of next week would I think be the earliest expectation of a result. Perhaps the 1st week of October.

Not sure when the Trades lists need to be finalised, but it would be important that the new Coach is able to have input to what would be an already defined list.

Thanks Bratty and Con,
I agree - don't think there is a need to rush too much, but at the same time would be great for the new bloke to have some input in Trade Week - Oct 10-17.
Cheers.

Mark Maclure made some sense .....yes the one on AFL 360....I was surprised as well.

His advice - don't rush. Get the right guy. Recruiters know the list and the gaps. Have been living with it all season. Let them do their job.

harvey said today that he will find out more tomorrow but will be applying. So it sounds like they will take applications tomorrow and then narrow it down next week?

Pelchen is the boss at the moment, and without idiot Lyin he can do a proper job on the list. I hope Harvs has minimal input.
