Seeing your guess is as good as the Herald Sun's

I'll go with 4. I reckon there might be a dark horse we don't know about.

Well I suppose I better apply while I've still got time.

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

Obviously it's between, Mick Malthouse, Leigh Matthews, Rodney Eade, Mark Harvey, Gary Ayres and Dean 'the Brawler' Laidley

Me thinks it will be Leigh Matthews as Director of Coaching, Mick Malthouse as Senior Coach and the other four as the assistants.

I can't be far off it, 'cos I'm sure over the weeks since Lyin left us in the lurch I've read these names on the site as possibilities in some form or another.......... and we all know what experts we have on this site and 'people in the know'

Sad part poor Harves will miss out on a spot   The selection panel told him the reason was, he doesn't have an ego to match the aforementioned.

If we recall last time we were in this position, none of the remaining candidates got the job!

*Allegedly.

What happened last time?

I can't really remember the lead-up to Ross Lyon getting the gig; who was in contention?

Ross Lyons name was also on that list ... It was a final 4 candidates and Ross was the looong shot

Yes obviously. The poster asked, who (else) was in contention in the lead up to Lyon getting the gig. Seeing he mentioned Lyon only, I didn't include him

42

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

I'll be upfront; that's not enough to convince me. It's more than enough for the HS though.

Douglas Adams was asked many times during his career why he chose the number 42.

The answer to this is very simple. It was a joke. It had to be a number, an ordinary, smallish number, and I chose that one. Binary representations, base thirteen, Tibetan monks are all complete nonsense. I sat at my desk, stared into the garden and thought '42 will do' I typed it out. End of story

Ford Prefect and a couple of mice will back me up as well.

Back Page for sure at the Hun now.

1. Decision made. IMO.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
