Siposs article in the Age

Post: # 1191372Post kosifantutti23 »

I reckon 4 feature articles in the age in the last seven days.

Why all the love all of a sudden?
ARRYN Siposs feels like a St Kilda player now, not the kid who was drafted to the team that he loved most.

How can you get sick of reading about youth with talent that is being trained by the great Hammer, Con?
Just like many here, it was once my dream to put on the red, white & black and kick goals for the Sainters.
The only thing I have in common with Arryn is that we both have that framed print of the 1966 Premiership Team on our wall.

I hope he turns his dreams into reality............. soon.

While its great for us supporters to be able to read all this stuff, the real bonus from all this positive media should be an increased attractiveness to sponsors.

Hopefully we can strike while the iron's hot.

and the slightly taller, stronger and fitter 19-year-old doing everything he can think of to make the round one side this year.

I wonder if he is big enough to hold down Full Forward now?

That's assuming we have one

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl ... 6262214561

"ST KILDA is looking to relieve the attacking load on Nick Riewoldt, as coach Scott Watters said a spearhead forward was a relic of the past.

"Footy has gone past your one traditional spearhead. You have to have a multi-pronged forward line," Watters told Perth radio 6PR.

He is determined to use all of his forward options.

" 'Kosi' (Justin Koschitzke) needs to play a part. We need Rhys Stanley to step up and deliver," he said.

"We need Arryn Siposs, who showed glimpses of talent and good form last year, to take another step forward."......"

J Riewoldt at Arryn's age was said to be too small to hold down FF.

Stanley is the key for change and adding a new dimension to our side.

With a new coach and process in place, it may be the difference for him.

Got a hunch Stanley will be the surprise packet this year.

Have to agree with Clarky, don't give the media opportunity...the news is good, because the news is good.

Great article. Seems to be a good feel about the club at the moment. Finally some consistent positive PR. I just hope the 'experts' keep talking us down. The lower the profile the better.

players have to be able to handle any hype that comes their way and is a sign of a good team and come with any success. Hype is unavoidable whether it be during the season or in GF week...and it's impossible to fly under the radar unless you're Brisbane playing for the wooden spoon.

Good and bad pr comes goes hand in hand with St Kilda. :)

From an external point of view the players look like they are enjoying themselves. It didn't feel that way over the last few years. That's what makes me excited about this year even if we're no hope for the flag.

It's always great to have a supporter of the club drafted to the Saints. As others have mentioned, I really liked reading how he got excited when he was watching games. And that last line certainly got me excited. He hasn't been there for long but he's driven to get one thing and already saying it publicly - I really do feel like he'll be around for a while. Time will tell, obviously, but most of us like what we've seen.

This kid has star written all over him. Can't wait to see what he can do, hopefully he's built up his tank so he can go a full season.
