What's an acceptable result vs Pies?

Post: # 1246585Post saintspremiers »

Only a win due to our finals hopes.

If we lose, we may end up playing Round 23 on Father's Day.

On the face of it, a loss under four goals would be acceptable, but given we've had too many 'honourable losses' in 2012, only a win will do!

And Sydney beat Carlton.

Be nice if the Dogs could help us out too.

That's one for the team, not the supporters. All we can do from outside the boundary line is hope things go our way.

whats with all these threads about an "acceptable" result.

A win....maybe? just possibly?

or are people going to be happy with a loss? get real...

Don't be a jughead SP, you've asked this question before!
For gawds sake man we are playing the filth.
Only a WIN is acceptable, by 1 point or 60 points, I don't care.

If I have to put up with that crowd, only a win is acceptable !

There are no "honourable losses" at this time of the year - we are at the business end.

An accptable result will be if on Monday morning when I'm reading Robbo's column "The tackle" that I don't spew my conflakes all over kitchen table while reading about how Travis Cloke is back after kicking 10 goals and how Dale Thomas played his best game since GF2 and how Buckley is heading for AA selection. I will probably will stick a spoon in my eye if that happens.

i won't be too unhappy with a three goal loss.

we're not as good as collingwood, the only question is how much better they are. if we lose by eight goals then that means we're definitely not going to beat geelong - then we're not going to make the eight but we're not top eight quality anyway, so the season's over. if we lose by three goals then i'd still give us some chance of beating geelong and so making the eight.

From a purely spectator and beating the filth point of view, what's better, 1 point win or a 60 point win?

60 points and their ferrals may just shut up, 1 point is entertaining to watch them go nuts at umpires etc etc

I'll take the 60 points and an easy, happy, exit from the ground thanks :)

A 60 point win - lol.
Yeah - well I have decided to bite the bullet and tip the Saints - show the faith - we have more to play for and their new guys are not up to match hardness .... i hope
Anyway I need to pick one up for my footytips.
Go Saints!
