When is D day for Both Melbourne and Adelaide
I want to know what day the AFL will come down and ban both Melbourne and Adelaide from the draft for tanking and draft tampering.
Anybody have any idea?

Plus I want higher draft picks and the potential to somehow pick up Jack Viney.
Rules are rules and we have adhered to them...so eff whoever doesn't.

The AFL might follow the lead of Federal & State Governments (past & present) and release/announce this sort of stuff on Melbourne Cup Day !!

And also collingwood for draft tampering for ball and tarrant. Both said they would only go to collingwood. When do they get their penalty. Also they cheated the cap and got an amnesty when one million over.

So Brock McLean is so disgusted by tanking at Melbourne that he goes to ... Carlton? You couldn't make this stuff up.

Re: When is D day for Both Melbourne and Adelaide
I solved the other mystery about Melbourne's hopeless recruiting and how they wasted all those early picks.
Apparently when Big Jim send the "Tank tank tank" e-mail he accidentally cc'ed it to the Melb recruiters.

Re: When is D day for Both Melbourne and Adelaide
So if Crows and Dees lose picks our picks get upgraded to 23, 24, 39 and 42?
So we were looking at giving up pick 23 and 24 for Brown and potentially pick 14 if the rumor about swapping pick 16 for our first two picks was true.
I think we came out of it well.

It is almost to the point where it is too late to penalise them in this years Draft (less than 3 weeks to go). Could wait until next years Draft (and possibly the year after) !!

Yeah I agree. They have left it too late and either could get an injunction or stall it in court so that the draft will run as is IMO.

Re: When is D day for Both Melbourne and Adelaide
The AFL could at least take their first round picks off them, and announce further punishments in next season. It does not seem right that Melbourne have pick 4 for compensation for losing Scully, when they gained him through the tanking.

They will give a report outlining the charges against the Dees at that point they will outline their defence and not much will happen before the draft.borderbarry wrote:The AFL could at least take their first round picks off them, and announce further punishments in next season. They have 2 and half weeks. Plenty of time.Eastern wrote:It is almost to the point where it is too late to penalise them in this years Draft (less than 3 weeks to go). Could wait until next years Draft (and possibly the year after) !!
ADL and MEL need to be punished this season for maximum effect.

Re: When is D day for Both Melbourne and Adelaide
I don't think the investigation is finished yet. Both clubs will be given time to respond to the allegations. The AFL Commission meet later this week and it is they who will make the final decision, meaning there won't be enough time PRIOR to the National Draft. This is one of those situations where I want the AFL to take as long as is needed. They need to get it right so that it stays out of the Courts !!saintspremiers wrote:They have 2 and half weeks. From memory Carlton only lost their picks in 2002 in the week leading up to the draft.

I don't think you"ll be right. They will lose their picks before the draft. The courts have nothing to do with it.Eastern wrote:I don't think the investigation is finished yet. Nothing announced yet, and the week has gone.

Re: When is D day for Both Melbourne and Adelaide
i think they will be punnished next year as its too hard to effectivly punish them this year after the trade period has come and gone because realistically the trades involving Melbourne and the Crows draft picks should not have been allowed as those pck would have been stripped off them ... hit them with the fines this year and then hit them with no draft pick in next years draft
