2010: our last home game @ Etihad in Round 1?

If Westaway has any balls left, he really needs to push for us to play round 1 at Etihad next year.

Apart from Essendon, that had the limelight of sorts as season opener, we are the only other Victorian team to play interstate in round 1.

That's right...Sydney jumped us in the '09 game and led at quarter time by four goals.
We then kept them to two points in the second quarter and scoreless in the third.

The MCC have us as category C game, which means very poor attendance due to so few Saints fans attending home or away games at the G.

Their fans turn up to all games as far as ive seen, they will show up against us aswell.. why?? because their supporters know they have a better than 50/50 chance of beating us and it is round 2 at the G.

IMHO if our fan's weren't so fickle at times we wouldnt have to worry about where we play. Personally, I dont care where we play aslong as we play well and win!!

Reckon a lot of teams would dream about opening the seasons with Port of Suns....when it's so important to get off to a good start, I can't be annoyed with being giving the Suns.

I don't care if its Etihad or the MCG, I just want us to have a HOME GAME in Rd 1 against one of the larger Vic clubs (Coll, *Ess, Haw, Geel). Carl & Rich left out because they now seem to have a mortgage on that Thursday Night. *Ess, subject to ASADA findings !!

We do actually have 11 home games, right? 10 in Melbourne, 1 in NZ.

Don't much care which order they are in.

My out there suggestion for Rd 1

since being the 'first game' only game' allows for teams to get full exposure for some of that day- ala Tigers and Blues tomorrow.

maybe they could play Round 1 over 9 days ending on a Monday and then round 2 start the following Friday.
ie
it would have been - Last Friday, Sat, Sunday, Monday, then Thurdsay, Friday, Sat , Sunday, Monday

or the Wednesday and not the second monday.
