Beaten by a bigger and more experienced side - But boy did we have our chances.

Im hoping we just play the kids - White, Lee, Hickey etc
make room for them and get games into them - Only way we can make the pain of losing short lived.
Stockpile as many picks in the top 20 - guaranteed a top 7 pick this year, Which we MUST get a gun from
Look at opposition lists for players who have talent but cant get games, like port did last year.
Target players who have good kicking skills and are between 185 -190 cm so that they can be multi positional players like geelongs kids.
Infact - i want us to tank this year. Do everything we can to stay competitive get games into kids and secure Tom Boyd.

Agree with your sentiments. I have totally readjusted my expectations short term, totally interested in the future.

What's done is done - I'm just looking forward to Newnes, Wright, White, Webster, Saunders, Murdoch, Lever etc etc, coming to the fore.
Call me Big Kev, but I'm actually excited.
It's half full, not half empty. We can now develop youngsters, we've got a capable structure and developers and some great young talent.
I watched us lose the 1st 3 games of 1 early '80's season by over 100 points.

Im feeling good - if we dont win another game all year but never get blown away and stay within 5 goals of everyone ill be happy.
means we are really only 5% off the pace - but we will get a super high draft pick.
