No news is good news.....

Post: # 1509291Post jimmy_slats »

Unfortunately i get the feeling this isn't true... We seamed to start this period with so much news and talk from the club but a few trades didn't go our way and a few surprises have thrown up a some road blocks! I am starting to think that not all is going to plan, and in a big way! I really hope we dont make any decisions we will regret due to feeling the need to be very active in this trade period..

i dont think we are as a club in a rush to trade for trades sake ... i reckon we have shown interest in some players purely to push their price up for our competitors .. from the start i dont think we were ever really going to be huge players in trade week especially not for players

I feel it's going pretty well to plan. What is said by/to the media is not always accurate. Whether you like it or not trade time is as close as you can get to selling/buying a used car. It's going to plan.

I reckon most people still think the Saints are bottoming out and at least another couple of years away from an upswing. No surpirse really that most players in the market aren't nominating us.

Got an update today - things are going ok trust me. Yes there's been some surprises but we fully expect to execute on our plan.

It's hardly been a run of the mill trade period, one headline after another, one player shock after another.

It's possible everytime they've worked a deal it's been KO'd by all these other shenanigans.

There are so many scenarios in play , a lot of them would need to be solved in order for everyone interested in the No.1 pick to see where the cards had fallen.

Then a deal could be done. Unless, the cards don't fall until 1.55pm Thursday , in which case, it'll be too late.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

It does have that feel from the past where one really big, complicated trade gets through on the last day or 2 and the flood gates open up.

I feel that this may be that trade

Looks like the Bulldogs will get pick 4 for Griffen who will then on trade that with pick 6 to the Saints for pick 1. Is this a good deal for the Saints. Petracca and Brayshaw goes to the Demons. Who do we pick up?

If that happened, I'd ask Melb to give us pick 2 for pick 6 and [Steak Knives].

Gilbert? Ray? It hurts to even say it but nothing good comes without some sacrifice.

where does this information come from?

I dont understand why the Bulldogs would trade 4+6 for 1?

Surely they are guaranteed getting either McCartin or Wright at 4?

And from several reports they are keen on Wright...

If they get pick 1, won't they take McCartin or Wright anyway?

It's all over the papers that they want pick 1. It will be 2 picks for number 1. How else will they get it.

Not all over the papers............but this was on afl.com

possibility

Griffen + pick 6 to GWS

leaving GWS with 4, 6 and 7

GWS would trade picks 4 and 6 to us for pick 1

Which ever way it happens I imagine this could be better for the Saints.

been talk since boyd dropped the news
but its really no diff than whats been floated for the last week and a bit which was 4 and 7 (which they get from carlton sometime this week)
ok its one more lower but really not much in the scheme of things

i reckon this is what we are going to do but i reckon we will also get a player thrown in to come our way as well
who is on the outer over at gws thats half decent?

WHO WILL PICKS 4 & 6 BE ???

Post: # 1509598Post Megamaguire »

chook23 noticed on afl.com as a possibility

Griffen + pick 6 to GWS
leaving GWS with 4, 6 and 7

GWS would trade picks 4 and 6 to us for pick 1.

Well any predictions for Picks #4 & #6 ? ?

Had a look @ Knightmare's Phantom Draft.
He had Pat McCartin @ #4 and Lachie Weller @ #7 (as the next rated midfielder after Brayshaw being taken @ 2).

Anyway thought it would be fun to guesstimate picks 4 and 6 in the draft if we swapped 1 for 4 and 6 as Chook suggests as a possible outcome.

G O S A I N T E R S ! :D

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
