My AFL top 50

Post: # 1529032Post Hallalj#3 »

As the summer days go by and we're counting the days until the boys come back, I thought I'd do something I've always wanted to do.
I've made my AFL top 50 players, basically wanted to see how hard it would be, it wasn't that hard just pick the players you'd want in your team first.
Obviously it's just my opinion.

1. Gary Ablett Jnr
Best Player by quite some distance.

2. Lance Franklin
When up and going the Best forward in the game.

3. Jarryd Roughhead
Most Versatile Big Man in the game

4 Tom Hawkins
Unstoppable 1 on 1

5. Nathan Fyfe.
Brilliant on the ground superb in the air and as tough as they come.

6. Dyson Heppell.
Was Getting Tagged and still Dominating Games, at his age that's very uncommon.

7.Robbie Gray.
Just a brilliantly balanced player who is a genuine match winner.

8. Scott Pendlebury.
Doesn't make any mistakes with the ball. Skills are as good as they get.

9. Dustin Martin.
Wins Games, and turns games.

10. Joel Selwood
Complete Midfielder brilliant leader and won 3 or 4 games just on his will.

11. Travis Boak

12. Jordan Lewis

13. Chad Wingard

14. Sam Mitchell

15.Patrick Dangerfield

16. Tom Rockliff

17. Jobe Watson

18.Josh Kennedey (SYD)

19 Dayne Beams

20. Trent Cotchin

21 Bryce Gibbs

22 Michael Walters

23 Ben Cunnington

24 Luke Hodge

25. Nick Riewoldt

26 Ollie Wines

27 Rory Slone

28 Josh Gibbson

29 Luke Bruest

30 Callan Ward

31 Aaron Sandilands

32 Mark Murphy

33 David Mundy

34 Daniel Talia

35 Luke Parker

36 Michael Hurley

37 Brett Deledio

38 Hamish Hartlett

39 Matt Priddis

40 Andrew Swallow

41 Adam Treloar

Nice work , could not have Hawkins in top 20.
Issues with Waters , Cunnington and Yarren.

Would have Swan , Harley Bennell , Cyril , Stevie J and maybe Ryan Griffen in mine.

Jack Newnes happy to be a Saint !!!! PS and to hit a target !!!

Gunston? Replace him with Hanley from Brisbane

Johnson from Geelong is still up there, too. Put him ahead of Yarran.

Rance from Richmond can replace Hurley, in my view.

Ryan Griffin is still a superstar.

Bryce Gibbs ranked a little high, too, as is Hawkins.

I'd have Pendlebury at 2

Cunnington won the B&f in a team that finished top 4.

Walters is superstar. Top 30 in my books. Isnt the knock on Martin that he cant play 4 quarters?
Admirable effort though from the OP. Id get Griffen in there somewhere.Top 50s will never get a consensus.

Selwood well ahead of Martin in my book.

Hanley definitely in my top 50, especially as you have Rockliff up high.

Great effort though, we all have different thoughts on different players.

Selwood in top 5
Martin not in my top 20, I reckon he is the most overrated player in the comp
Rooey has to be higher up....if he was in a good team he'd be dominating, he kicked 50 for the wooden spooners.
And agree Stevie J is still a top 30 player

Pretty good effort overall
