MCC ballot outcome

Post: # 1582436Post saintspremiers »

So who got seats to the big dance sans Freo in the ballot?

I did. Level 1 near the bullring. Not shabby!

Only joking - I reckon we should just give the other forums the arse.

Missed out.
Will have to queue up early.
But Hawthorn v West Coast is the dream GF and should be worth the effort.

I don't go to Grand Finals that St Kilda aren't involved in, i prefer to watch the GF on the TV.

Enjoy the experience if you do go to the ground next Saturday, GF day..

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Ace got level 1.

It is not so much a matter of when the gates open but where you are in the queue before the gates open.
With two Melbourne clubs you can be hundreds of metres from the front of the queue at 6AM
But with virtaully no West Coast MCC members demand for seating may be reduced.
Once inside you have to join a queue for the seats accessed by your choice of aisle.
You are then given a reserved seat ticket.
You can even go home and return just in time for the game.

If you are slow moving like Ace you can be passed by people who arrived an hour later.
Remember watching from the back of the level 4 is like watching ants play football.
You will see more on TV at home.

First non-offensive GF for years. No Swines or Freo first time since 2011!

Missed out again.
Have done well a few times, but more misses than hits.
Need to accurately judge when to turn up -- this year maybe just before 8.00am?

From memory I turned up at 8 for the 2012 granny and joined the end of the queue with one other.

We got seats third back row level 4 but right on the wing.

Hard to judge the queue length this year.

Great weather (fine and 28), no prelims in Mebourne and Hawks possible three-peat will drive demand significantly.

I gather its crowded? Hope you get a good seat. I luckily have my seat so its Transport at 10 for a round and then the car park for a few more and then into the ground around 2.20 for the game.

It was pretty crowded and a mad rush but got there. Seats in aisle 47 on lvl 2, so dead centre wing - pumped!

Pretty excited to watch the kids play @ 10 also.

If you are tight like me, go down to the foxtel tent before the game to get your free footy record (free for foxtel customers).

Front row level 3
Very happy though 2.5 hours is a long time to queue.

This is my 48th grannie.
Always exciting.
But always tinged with sadness as the demons of 71, 97, and the recent ones come back vividly.

We must be twins -- it was my 48th too. With the same shocking memories.
I was lucky enough to see '66. Although my first game ever was the '65 grand final, which was a rude awakening for a young boy that Essendon wouldn't just kindly let us win.

Didn't emulate your excellent seat allocation.
But grateful to say at least we were there.
