It’s a pity that Nicky’s 1987 epic at Moorabbin doesn’t have better footage. It’s one of the best of all time

Awesome,BJ took some rippers,
Lockett Lowe/. Kosi and Rooey,
Heaters / Gehrig, disappointed none of these
Got a flag,certainly good enough

100 goals in 14 games...Lockett is the key

Yep, a famous day that one. Queens Birthday Monday, reigning premiers have won their first 8, the Saints first year at Moorabbin.

Yabby pulls a swifty at the start - Howell to full forward, Murray to full back and Coop takes, IMHO, a greater mark over Hugh Brommell than Jezza's more famous one over Jerka.

A week later, the Demons sack Norm Smith and slide into purgatory for the next half century. A year later, Saints are premiers.

I pretty hard day for an impressionable young Saints supporter to forget. And I never will!

A lot of these would have been Mark of the Year had they been taken by an Essendon player.

No mate, unfortunately not.
I have always loved this one.
I remember presenting it to someone that had told me Lockett never got off the ground to mark :-)

Thanks for posting the video link.
Us Sainters here really appreciated that.
Great to get back to a positive note :-)
