frees for and against

Post: # 1806171Post saynta »

The f****** maggots don't even know the rules ffs.

Frees 26 to 14.

At least 5 and possibly 6 goals from frees to the handbaggers from shitty hollow.

Three times, the ball was knocked from saints players hands in the tackle with the saint player continuing to be held and which resulted in free kicks to the cats.

The Ablett one was the worst and resulted in another undeserved goal. Little fucker.

Makes you want to puke or at least give the game away.

The saints are playing against a marked deck, week after week, month after month, year after year.

You must admit Saynta the umps had their money on us when we played Carlton - Never seen it go our way with conviction like that game

The only thing we can agree on is that the maggots bet on results then set out to achieve said result.

I don't believe that the maggots have assisted the saints unfairly.......ever.

And before anyone starts, I saw Fisher give three frees to the cats but I didn't notice any he gave the saints.

The one against Long for “too forceful”......I wanted to put my foot through the tv. WTF type of made up rule on the run is that???

Marshall pushed out in marking contests.
2 free kicks after half time. Coaching and calibre of players are shite, but how on earth do you complete against that type of bias???

Free kick count was almost even at half time
So we really got reamed in the second half.

Agreed Saynta.

Close to one of the poorest displays of umpiring I have seen for years.

Some shocking decisions. E.g. Dangerfield hands in back on Coffield. Weak umpires love the so called heroes of the AFL.

It was they did exactly as instructed. Reward Geelong at every chance make sure they win. Couldn’t have been any better.

Yes we got reamed but it’s that obvious it’s ridiculous

I just got home after going to the game.
The crowd down here are completely ignorant of the rules. They were booing constantly and thought they were robbed !
I have no doubt that they affect the umpires.

That small period in the third quarter turned the game
Two bulls*** frees to them and that mark awarded to Guthrie on Billings
It was Billings’ mark or a ball up !!

Would be good to have a home ground like that with 30-40,000+ supporters every home game

We would at Moorabbin. 35k stadium with 25k-30k of our supporters every week. A place that feels like home.

But no, majority have to sit on level 3 whilst level 1 and 2 are basically empty. Looking after the fans...

Yes, it's not even being hidden well. The best ones tonight were the constant pushing paid against, but both teams were doing it. I don't know any more

We generally lose the count, isn’t everyone used to it?

Stats say, over the last 5 years we at the very top, when it comes to free kick differential

And goal kicking accuracy

It’s clearly a taboo subject yet everyone knows it that umpires are absolutely influenced on genuine home grounds (not as much the shared Melb venues imo).

Ruining football.

At least twice tonight we applied tackles and the Geelong player was spun through 720 degrees before handballing.
Result? ..... Play on!

well it's ruining it for me. Every week I find myself just pleading for it to be an even playing field. Doesn't matter if it's at Geelong, Sydney or at home, the same shyte happens. I'm sick of it really

We’re always going to get less free kicks when we’re constantly second to the ball.

I thought the umpiring was very good tonight, except for the one they missed with the Geelong player being swung around 1080 degrees which should’ve been holding the ball.

Not only that. There’s an element of, “It’s only St Kilda.” They don’t respect us.

It will turn when we become a better side.

Umpires are the world’s worst bandwagon jumpers. You watch them get on the Carlton train now, just like they did with the Bulldogs in 2016.

You might want to watch the last qtr from our Blues clash earlier this season then.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

The umpires are a blight on the game but I don't think they were the reason we lost tonight. I see Richardson mentioned the free kick differential in his press conference. Smacks of desperation on his part.

He probably needs to invite them for a coffee like Clarkson did, and make sure to take along his laptop. He might be able to use his comments to our advantage.

Mind you, I thought the way we kicked the ball to our forwards tonight, and poor conversion at crucial times is the real reason we ended up getting done.
