Re: Newnes
Gastro mate. Same as Paton.
But apparently the club pretended Newnes had gastro to help cover the Hannebery gastro story they had already made up. The club got worried a few sleuths on this forum had seen through the Hannebery gastro conspiracy.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Newnes
Whilst I don’t like Newnes, he is a far better option than either McKenzie or Parker. Same with Patton.
Also, losing Acres hurt a tad, even though he’s not much good.
Battle was useless. So basically our three outs were replaced with half a packet of stale chips. That’s gotta hurt substantially

Re: Newnes
Don't understand why Battle wasn't thrown forward instead of Carlisle. Haven't seen Jake do a single thing in the forward line for us ever. We basically only have 1 leading forward in Membrey

Re: Newnes
His opponent, if he had of played, had 39 disposals and was one of the Crows best. Newnes as a defensive forward has gone ok of late.

Correct, we are all looking forward to Dan playing next week.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sat 03 Aug 2019 11:26pm Gastro mate. Same as Paton.

Whether he joins Paton, Newnes and White in the seniors will be interesting.

Re: Newnes
The reasons we lost were:
- missing our simple chances (Bruce 2, Membrey 1, Lonie 1, Gresham 1)
- selfish play when streaming forward and not sharing the ball to two clear options and shooting (e.g. Parker)
- high bombs forward to the hotspot when short options and patience was required
- not shutting down Laird (so nobody took up the Newnes role)
- umpires missing obvious frees to us that impacted the scoreboard (Betts goal, Membrey holding the ball last quarter as examples)
- list management mistakes of the past combined with massive player loss due to injury having us field a very inexperienced and under skilled side
- poor selection balance as we one tall too many got the 2 talks forward structure preferred meaning Battle ended up playing wing and / or half back taking the high half forward and was handed a footy lesson by Lynch (ouch)
- poor tactical match ups McKenzie on Betts (should have been Savage from the start) Battle on Lynch (should have been Wilke all game); Carlisle on Tex (Should have been Brown) and Battle should have been taking Fogarty. Also Steele should have sat on Crouch and let Dunstan go head to head physically with Sloane. Carlisle should have been played forward as the relief ruckman.
End of rant.

Re: Newnes
Even if he did play, we probably would have been asking the same question.
