Pace is interesting in footy.

Robert Harvey wouldn’t have featured in the 100 sprint but he was absolutely explosive over 10-15 meters.

Kent is probably as quick as any saint in the list, but when do you ever see him use his speed to break clear or apply a run down tackle?

Using pace is all about intent and taking the game on.

Whatever speed Hind has he uses every ounce of it in games and backs himself.

A super quick player who should seems to be on the outer at Brisbane is Lewis Taylor, wonder if he would fit in at Saints? Runs hard and has pace. Could be a forward upgrade on Kent or Hind?

I saw him playing VFL last year and couldn't believe how quick he was. He could give the GF sprint a shake.

Will our grand final luck start to turn around with this win on grand final day?

Absolutely....just give the Suns ALL of our future draft picks for next year...we need to get Ben King even if we have to give up the world. A team with not one but two Kings is a very scary proposition for opposition teams....they will be THAT good.

If Maxy is Winks, Ben is Phar Lap...

Hind bringing up the rear, how apt. Ben King was awesome. 🤑

Saints looking like a bottom 4 team in 2024.

Hind is able to burn off opponents in match conditions because he only has one speed - flat out.
Meanwhile opponents and other saints run fast but not so fast it really hurts.
They would prefer to make it through the game without spewing up their guts.
Some go hard with ball in hand but how many years ago was it that you saw a number of our players run down an opponent after a turnover.
Jack Steven is fast with ball in hand but slower than a snail when the opposition is in possession.

Richmond went hard all day, they destroyed GWS superior talented players who only go flat out downhill.

The GF sprint was in its heyday in the 70’s and 80’s when players were players not athletes.

Players need 10-30 metre burst speed and endurance to do that on and off for 2 hours.

In "Hind"sight it was a bad move entering the GF sprint ... he's still quick, though.
Nick is both quick and nimble/light on his feet.

Perspective ...
A top olympic sprinter would finish a staggering 20 metres (or thereabouts) ahead of BKING at the tape, based on the winning time of 11.62 seconds.

Agree samoht but further perspective, it's a novelty event, the only things missing are an egg & spoon.

Agreed.

The fact that some of the carry on is serious is quite disturbing.

Ben King's time is encouraging for future suitors. He'd be absolutely elite against players of his height in the AFL. His time of 11.6 means he's travelling at 31 kph over 100 metres.
The best of any AFL player this season was Oleg Markov at 37.4 kph - this was his top speed (possibly for a few metres).
One could infer that Max King has similar qualities.
Interestingly 'sprint speed' is something to aspire to. The team ranked #1 for Total Sprints was the premier, Richmond (with an incredible 4237 sprints). No other team had over 4000. The other Grand Finalist, GWS was in 3rd position.

This is a one off effort. Would be more interesting how his repeat sprint times are because that's more relevant to what we see on match day
