Buyer beware of the 23rd , 24th ranked player as a premiership club.

Rarely do they produce anything more than average but are usually overrated ala Tim Notting during Brisbane’s era.

Well, Savage was the 23rd man as well in a premiership era (being an emergency).

It’ll be interesting having so many small forwards

Yep! Spot on premiership player nonetheless.

Other side of the coin, and no disrespect to him - was he a VFL premiership player this year as well? Or did he get rested for the seniors?

Good pick up!

But for how long? Howard likely forces Brown out.

If they can, Brown stays for final year as a back up.

Long needs to be more than a small forward. He needs to take the next step.

I'm sure we all hope so and is very likely (and hopefully quickly) but do you keep Nat on for one more year, in a sense he ain't no Luke Hodge but he's the best Luke Hodge we got and it will still be handy to have his type around just to keep contributing to the backline development, whether it be at training or even at Sandy. He's keen to play seniors so if another club doesn't pick him up we should keep him and see if he can show the young bucks up.

Good to consider this but I probably wouldn’t. Have to be amazingly good off field value to compensate for the lack of on field and Brown probs doesn’t fit this category.

Club might see otherwise though!
