Re: NZ PM wants NZ team in AFL
If NZ get a team before Tassie......that would suck. I fear the writing is on the wall in regards to NZ and our club. ...why? We might be playing games there, but I still think we're less likely to move than quite a few other clubs. We still have more members than WB, Kangaroos and Melbourne. We pl...

Re: Any posters in NZ now?
I'm over here with friend staying at a dive of a hotel with no WI FI until NOW. Getting ready for the game & plan to stroll to the ground
& stop on the way to see the other less important Anzac Day clash. Hope we give a good account of ourselves.

Re: STRENGTH and pace WIN THE GAME
The Bombers were certainly faster and bigger bodied. You forgot to mention "delivery" into the forward line. Poor delivery by Saints players often led to easy Bomber re-bounds and goals on the break. It's called "foot"ball. How our recruiters took on so many poor kickers, I will...

STRENGTH and pace WIN THE GAME
We were monstered by the Bombers. They were too strong for us. Simple as that. Our forward thrusts were continually repelled. We need a monster forward who can at least bring the ball to ground so that our smaller forwards might at least crumb a goal. Too many times tonight the ball was bombed forwa...

Re: Just need to come to grips with where we're at
It is about age but more importantly it is about transition. The Demons cleaned out the closet getting rid of their older and more experienced players and then appointed their younger rising stars as Captain and Vice Captain. They fell on their face when the new leaders had no role models to offer a...

Re: Best things out of tonight
I didn't see the game, but Lee's figures aren't terrible. 1 goal, 9 touches, 3 marks, 2 tackles Doesn't sound too bad for a debut, easily matches Kosi's recent output. Anything promising about his match? He was fair at best. Its either Lee or Hicket next week and then it becomes Blake or Simpkin. i...

Re: Just need to come to grips with where we're at
Don't even agree with this bs thread. We matched Richmond, you just can't win when richmond get 6 free's in their forward 50 to yours 0. Was similar to the Hawthorn/Geelong game, Hawks were getting all the bs free's, but the tide changed middle of the 3rd. I thought it might turn for us, unfortunat...

- discussed the need to bring a new generation through whilst still aiming to win each match and how that was a balancing act. Specifically said that development would not be an excuse tho. - hoped that Armo and McEvoy can take the step up to next level - 26 <23yos means there is strong emphasis on...

Yes everyone does have the same cap... What he's saying is rich clubs can afford to take risks, and he had to take a conservative approach... What I'm interested in, is why the board is making list decisions, why doe we have a list manager and team..... To make recommendations.... What is Greg West...

No News (Is Good News?)
OK I may be dangerously jumping the gun but I find it rather refreshing that we're not the team under the microscope pre-season for a change. I search through the sports section of the HS and the Age and there's hardly any mention of us. There may be a scandal brewing but I'm enjoying the lack of ne...

Re: Midfield
I believe Watters is making life a little bit more unpredictable for our opposition. We have many players who can play mid. Unpredictability is the key. Bolstering our ruck department to gain first access to the ball is critical though. Fingers crossed. In short explosive bursts Milne for example ca...

Re: Goddards managers comments.
As did Watter's speech at the B&F talking about loyalty & commitment. IMO Goddard has never looked anything close to captaincy material. Too much of an angry ant, too petulant towards team mates & very sulky. Luke Ball was captain and he aint here either. Captaincy doesn't ensure loyalty.

Re: Just a feeling
Lucky 13 for some. Maybe the new lucky number for the Saints in 2013. 100 years ago the in 1913 the Saints lost to Fitzroy by 13 points. Not lucky if we lose to our next apponent by 13 points though. Re feeling though; I think we will win our next one out of the blue a bit like the 1997 year when we...

Odd.
Did he have a big fallout with his dad?
I guess te main thing is that his head is in a good space so he can play decent footy for Sandy and perhaps St. Kilda this year.
Do we have to re-draft him under his new name?

Blah Blah. Footballers are people and need to abide by the law.
Does your average Jo get 3 strikes?
If I blow over .05 @ a booze bus do I get another chance? (or even 2)
Worse still, if I drive home and admit to the Police that I was over .05 even though I got home safely do they waive it?

Re: Saints re-engage Moorabbin
There is plenty of room to expand at Seaford. Why can't we use both facilities and make it a strength? I agree, we should be looking at promoting the Southern Saints. This extends from St Kilda to Frankston and beyond. 2 facilities are great. We need to follow up with aggressive marketing incentive...
