Re: B.W.
Never understood why he was ever put into the backline. Apparently he's played down back before, but simply from watching his NAB cup games, you could tell he was hopeless in defence. Up forward, well, he was brilliant in the Melboune game. Haven't seen him up there since until now!

Re: A team I'd like to see play
Kosi to stay, I think people forget the games Wilkes played against West Coast, at least Kosi didn't directly cost us 4 goals. While that's true, Kosi wasn't playing at half back. I don't care what anyone says, Wilkes is not a good or even adequate defender. I could tell this from his NAB cup games...

A team I'd like to see play
Hypothetically, if all our players were in good nick, this is a team I'd like to see play: FB: Gwilt, Gilbert, Geary HB: Simpkin, Fisher, Dempster C: Goddard, Hayes, Armitage HF: Schnieder, Reiwoldt, Siposs FF: Milne, Stanley, Saad FOL: McEvoy, Dal Santo, Jones INT: Blake, Montagna, Wilkes SUB: Stev...

Why snap with your left when you can kick'em like this with your right?:

I have seen him snap truley with his left before though.

What's Peake doing this year anyway? I don't think he's played a game. Is he still playing at Sandy?

All good and all, but I don't think I can take another GF loss.desertsaint wrote:Based on results and other games I'd agree with BM, based on possibilities I'm hoping top six.
Need to start winning the hard games and get on a roll like 97.

A few of his shots were from a fair way out on tight angles. All three didn't miss by much IIRC. Nothing to worry about here.bergholt wrote:so why did he kick 1.3 when it should have been at least 3.1?BigMart wrote:I wouldn't worry too much about his goalkicking.

Current streak began with our win over WB in round 3. We're closing in on the record table: http://stats.rleague.com/afl/teams/allteams/streaks.html#20 And all our remaining games for the year could very well continue this way: GC: Win Adelaide: Loss North Melbourne: Win Essendon: Loss Brisbane: Win...

Agree re Wilkes. Need him forward, especially in the absense of Stanley now. But let us never speak of him in backline again.

Re: If I was in europe this weekend
There are free streams around the internet if you look hard enough. Not very good quality, but they're free and allow you to watch the games live.
I would post some links here but I don't know if I'm allowed to.

Re: good selection problems
With the game being so fast today, nearly all players who miss 4 games or more, need to come back through the VFL (Fisher probably one exception). It's good to see the pressure "really on" for a spot in the team. We saw the benefit of that with Ray last night. It took some very good AFL e...

 Ridiculous. No more than a week ago he was praised more than anyone! See: http://www.saintsational.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=70144 And the 'does not perform in big games' theory I don't really buy into. Yes, the 09 GF he made some pretty big mistakes. But IIRC he kicked 4 goals between the 2 ...

It's just not that when they showed the whole ground view of what the kicker had ahead of him no one was making any leads or presenting themselves 90% of the team were just jogging on the spot. Must be every week. Ive NEVER seen a Saints side prepared to bring the footy in fast and attack or even t...

In the words of Homer Simpson
"Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try." As optimistic as I (usually) am, this quote started ringing through my head about 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Honestly, HOW MANY chances do we need, WHAT is it going to have to TAKE?! At the end of last wee...

Just curious as to what happens to all the bets that were made for the winner? Were the bets for the premieres or for the winner of the game that was just played?

Stanley at FB?
Hey everyone. Fist post here but I'm just wondering if this has ever been discussed. Stanley at full back - is it a possibility?
He's fast, tall, similar to Dawson in a lot of ways. Maybe something to try next year? Thoughts?
