Re: Congratulations Nick- All Australian
Love reading all the Riewoldt hate that is flying around from random people on twitter. I didn't think he'd get in, but was thoroughly deserved. Will be on 6 votes after 2 rds. His stats match any of the other forwards. Champion player, well done Roo!

Re: Eli in 2014 - upgrade or rookie?
50/50 call for mine. Eli on talent should be on the list. There will most likely be an LTI early next season opening up a spot for him to play. I don't see any harm keeping him as a rookie, we need to ensure he comes back well from injury. Might take him a while to get going

Re: Who do we barrack for this weekend?
Hawks - dislike the cats. I find them smug and arrogant. Also I like the brand of footy hawthorn play. Dockers - I don't begrudge Ross success. Can't stand team COLA and a few of their supporters Roos - dislike Essendon. Drugs thing makes them more despised Power - Richmond having success annoys me....

Might be wrong, might be right. Just an opinion. I believe he should be in the team but I doubt the judges will see it that way

Re: Sir Rooey in AA squad of 40
I believe Roo is very unlikely to make the All Aust team. Generally the team these days is made up of top 8 sides + Ablett. Franklin is a lock, Robbie Gray is too, I believe either Schultz or Roughhead will fill another key forward spot. Hawkins is a chance too. Betts is very likely and Bruest is a ...

Re: Dunstan - Rising Star
Some valid points Plugger, maybe myself and others are showing a little bias. I very doubt he will get any votes which I find staggering. The way it is judged is probably the correct way with a 5-1 vote nomination from an enormous selection panel. In saying that Riccuito always votes for SA players ...

Re: Dunstan - Rising Star
I'm not saying he should win it, but he should at least receive votes and I'm of the belief he won't. If he played for Collingwood, Eddie and the supporters would be crapping on how great he is ad nauseum. Our players generally don't receive a lot of external recognition. Harves, Roo are two that ha...

Dunstan - Rising Star
With the winner of the NAB rising star announced tomorrow I find it staggering that Dunstan will almost certainly not finish in the top 5 players. I could potentially see him not attracting a vote! On nearly every statistical measure he trumps all comers. He kicked 9 goals in a rubbish side. People ...

Re: Let's get behind Tom Lee today
I have a bit of time for Tom Lee, has all the tools to be a good football player. He just needs to somehow become more aerobically fit so he can put manic forward pressure on, a pre requisite of the modern forward. Let's hope he doesn't cop any Troy Schwartz like treatment..

Re: How did Port recover so quickly?
Dont underestimate the effect Darren Burgess (fitness guy) has had on the group. Port have been running out games as good as any side for the last 18 months. They dipped a little bit in the 2nd half of last year, but managed to find that extra gear going into the pointy end. They just seem to have ...

Re: Cameron for our first pick?
We wont get him but we certainly arent better off getting Goddard if this guy was available. As I said it wont happen because GWS will want a player but if they went mad and our pick either one two or three would get it done then see you later Goddard.[/quote] Absolutely agree Plugger that we should...

Re: Cameron for our first pick?
Dont get youselves worked up the chances of him leaving are slim , the chances of him wanting to come to Saints are a million to one! "Winners Only" is absolutely right. Despite Cameron not being a free agent the key is still to have him interested in wanting to play for us. What can we o...

Re: We need to have more input into our fixture
Coming from a 30something male, going to the footy has lost 80% of its appeal. No passion, if you show it theatre goers turn around and look, surrounded by families. They need to introduce a rowdy area, I'm serious. I have friends who don't go anymore because of it. Saturday arvo friendly banter is...

Re: Robert Harvey revised team of the century discussion
Can't comment on Baldock or Stewart as I never saw either play. From what my dad tells me, he is Tasmanian so might be a hint of bias, Baldock was as good as any player to wear out colours. The Tim Lane article during the week was a super read. He must have been an incredible football player to play...

Robert Harvey revised team of the century discussion
I'm not someone to normally post on anything and it may have been discussed already somewhere. I'm absolutely staggered that Robert Harvey wasn't even in discussion in today's Herald Sun about a position in an updated team. We all know about his EJ medals, brownlows, All Australians etc. The main re...

Re: 5 best kicks on goal
1. Lockett, enough said 2. Heatley, did kick 4.8 in a game at Waverley once. Must have been windy although cant quite remember 3. Craig O'Brien, underated 4. G'Train, was so good at pointing to the mark and as the player looked down he would wheel of on the arc and slot it from 50 5. Winmar, they us...

Re: my alltime top 5
Going to leave Stewart and Baldock out of mine as it is very hard to comment on players you have never seen play. 1. Lockett - By a long way. Absolute freak, kept us alive onfield in the 80's. In my view had he played in the great Hawthorn teams he may have nudged 200 goal seasons. Kicked 10 on the ...

I don't often post on saintsational but am on most days., I will say I'm super excited about Dunstan looking at his player profile clip. Like Lenny, his attack on the ball inspires those around him. He has leadership all over, if you were a young player he is the guy to get behind. Good with his han...

Re: Port shows what can be done if....
Coaching can only get you so far. In fairness to Watters we are yet to have top draft picks until this season. Port have been ordinary since playing the GF in 2007. We are in our 2nd year of rebuilding, around 2016-2018 is when we will be doing what Port are providing we recruit well. I have a lot o...

Re: Eight years of pain coming ...
Devilhead is pretty much on the money. We need to recruit plenty of midfielders over the next few seasons. As much as it hurts watching us get pantsed by teams that we have flogged on a consistent basis over the past ten years ie: Richmond, I'm happy with the direction we are heading. Watters is pla...

Re: Watters very poor record in close games
I don't subscribe to the young bodies not having the ability to run out a game theory hurting us in the close games. Gold Coast don't appear to have any issue with it. Someone earlier mentioned the poaching of fitness guru Bill Davoren from the bulldogs. I don't think the bulldogs were too disappoin...
