Re: We can still make it...

As a supporter back in the dark old eighties when we never beat Carlton much between 78 and 91 (twice in all those years) I really appreciate the fact that in the past ten years we have beaten them fourteen or fifteen times and by big margins, considering that for ninety-odd years we only beat them ...

Re: Let's finish with a record

Lets finish it with how we are doing it....blooding more players who have only had few games. Without the game not having started I am already delighted by our ins. I am not at all phased by our winning margin. Great if it is big....but I care not if it isn't. Will be great just to see how Ross etc...

Chin up lads.
I thought the boat had sailed at the end of 2007 and we backed up pretty well.

Re: To those who cheered when Kosi was subbed off....

I cheered when Kosi was subbed off. I was cheering for Watters. Applauding his move. Bold but clever to sub a ruckman for a small forward. There is a reason hundreds applauded. Unless we are all morons. Maybe the OP is a disgrace for not supporting our coaches move. Say what? That move was probably...

Good on ya milney. Glad we're showing some
grunt.
He didn't swear at the umpire - he swore at OBrien - first time in the history of the game that a player received a 50 metre penalty for swearing at another player apprently.

Re: Kosi could be in strife.

Kosi will get three or four which is awesome. A forced change might show what the saints side will look like next year. It might even convince the coaches of a Koziless saints side which will be a positive IMO Are you for real? Kosi was one of few forwards for us who actually got to the ball on a r...

Re: Where are the umpire apologists tonight?

The umpire apologist, P66, is too busy drinking and dreaming up a way of defending 22 frees to 12. actually 25 to 14 but more to the point, was where they got theirs The umpires were clearly fearful of making any decisions in our forward 50 in our favour, but not so the other way likewise vital dec...

He is a breath of fresh air. Laid back footy players with a bit of a clue are a rare commodity these days. Definitely a ruckman in the mould of the great Jeff Sarau.

Re: bad result geelong winning

Our biggest concern is StKilda, I think we can potentially beat Sydney and/or Collingwood, but also quite easily lose to the Cats and Blues… if we are fair dinkum though, we shouldn't make hard work of any of the dogs, dees and giants… which would give us 11 wins alone. We will absolutely FLOG Carl...

Essendon really are soft. No way are they even a shadow of the team of the early/mid eighties or the 90s side. I hate them so I am glad they got done.

Re: Close Games Hurt

IMO - We will thrash Carlton in round 23 - ten goals plus, depending on personel available. And as for Geelong, this year will be the easiest opportunity against them for ten years I should think. They have defo been on autopilot this year and who could blame them really? Sydney at SCG and Collingwo...

Re: Gilbert - one of our worst kicks ever!

Gilbo did two very good right foot kicks tonight. First time ever two in the one game. (Probably only his third and fourth right foot kicks ever.) I thought he was excellent value tonight. Jones was far more embarrassing, not even wanting to kick, and ending up with even worse stuff-ups than just a...

Re: Gilbert - one of our worst kicks ever!

Kicked a great goal. Did a couple of ordinary things, but I think he just needs to work on his weaknesses - including field kicking. I think instead of a lot of the other drills, get guys like Gilbert and Jones working on field kicking and Roo on his goalkicking. A lot of the fitness work is done pr...

Re: why is the gabba such a graveyard for us?

Won the last three years there plus another in 2006 - hardly a graveyard I would have thought. Since 2000 Brisbane have been hard to beat anywhere, in 2003-4 we only beat them by a few points both times at the Docklands, and we also struggled to defeat them at the Docklands when we finished on top i...

I want North to die a long lingering death - good for percentage boosts. I remember a lot of the pastings they gave us throughout most of the late 70s and early-mid eighties. Revenge is sweet.

I'd give another young mid a shot, wouldn't hurt Jack to see someone else who is keen and disciplined under him get a game. Ross, Ledger, Curren? Curren's more a tagger isn't he? That selection may depend on whether Simon Black comes up (he has a knee). If not I would go for Newnes, although I woul...
