Agreed. So much to like. His willingness in the contest, to win his own ball is awesome. Big kudos to the recruitment team.remboy wrote:I think I've found my new favourite player. This guy's an absolute ripper.

Smooth operator - very Pendles like. Is going to be a cracker.
Needs more game time.
Needs to start next week.

Re: Umpire 2
What I found amusing was in congestion, the play was allowed to continue until a free was found for the Eagles. Any potential free that was there for us was overlooked. I had hawks supporters behind me bewildered at the free Shenton gave away with the front on no contact only spoil free just outsid...

Re: Schneider's season
Saw a lot of it today but his disposal efficiency at half time was 45.5% and finished with 64%. He butchered it early when the heat was on which seems to be a theme. I still think we need him in the side, net-net we are better off with him, but provides more than his fair share of frustrating moment...

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Can someone explain to me again why we hired a former Carlton 'scout' ? They have 17 first round draft picks on their list. Noone in anyway involved with their recruiting system should be employed anywhere ever again. Not even in the western border football league. I mean this guy is clearly no roc...

Re: 2015 - Draft & Trade Thread
Has anyone heard how Lachie Weller is doing at Freo?
From media reports he looks up to his big brother and dreams of lining up next to him one day.
This might be an early call but I have a sneaking suspicion we might see him in Saints colours one day.

Re: Team v Eagles
If the future is Lee & Goddard down back at some point you have to expose them given they are playing good footy at Sandy. Sounds like I am banging on here but it seems like they are not honouring the stated process. If the mantra is "You've got to be paying good footy and wait for the oppo...

Re: Team v Eagles
The short term solution is give Lee a chance. Lee may be an option but I am not sure this is the best game to try him as a defender in the seniors. He would be 2 cm shorter and 10 kg lighter tnan Josh Kennedy who is the most imposing forward in the league. Yes but Lee is 3cm taller and 4kg heavier ...

Re: Team v Eagles
Yeah with two talls out it sure is surprising that at least one tall was not brought into the 22 or at least made an emergency. It either says it is going to bucket down with rain under a closed roof at Etihad or the match committee is not too impressed by any of our talls going round in the reserv...

If we do have a pokies room, I'd expect to see a coin distribution machine with a cartoon Matt Finnis on the side and a big sign saying CHAMPION OF CHANGE. http://www.saints.com.au/news/2015-05-20/finnis-to-champion-change honk! Re: Guess this weeks ins and outs
Out: Roo, Lonie, Sinks, Shenton In: Membrey, Acres, Minch & Curren Can't get a sense if Joey will play. Shenton didn't lay 1 tackle which is bad enough but for a guy who plays defensive roles this shows a total lack of intent. I actually thought he used the ball a little better but how much pres...

Re: A case for Nick to say "that's it"
Obviously there is a tendency, after Browny's situation, for the wider football public to try and persuade him to give it away because they care for his welfare and the issue of potential long term damage is a real one. But as posters here have pointed out they are quite different. In the aggregate ...

Re: Moorabbin - Trouble Ahead
I used to think we could really use the pokie money... You know what? Screw that. We're a football club. A sporting club. A club. For the benefit of the community, not to extract money from it. Bottom line is this: clubs shouldn't really exist to turn profits. They should exist to service their mem...

Re: Pokies & Death Sticks Are Too Negatory
I applaud North for going 'pokie free' I agree J.M. I am also opposed to the production of nicotine/ chemical death sticks that are ok- ed for the retail shelves. Amazing that they are still sucked up by so many in Vic. We seem a bit in denial here but looking forward to them being outlawed at cafe...

Re: Moorabbin - Trouble Ahead
You are making a bad argument and that is a poor reason not to do the right thing. It's not even a reason; it's just a cop out. The 'right thing' is a subjective idea. 15 people a day die from alcohol related diseases in Australia. Should people not be allowed to drink because of the ones who die a...

You're right Casino's aren't as depressing as Pokie venues. But each to their own. Clearly I am the only one that actively avoids going to Pubs RSL's or any other venue that has Pokies. Re: Moorabbin - Trouble Ahead
So how much do we make from Pokies if the social club revenue is $2 Million how much profit are we making on that revenue. Ultimately this is a side buisness it adds nothing to the club apart from the cash it contributes to the bottom line, and arguably tarnishes the brand. I would have to agree wi...

Do you think that Dunstan has put two and two together and deduced that he may be part of a trade for Sloane? If so he may have lost interest? Is that anything more than speculation? They couldn't possibly trade Dunstan for Sloane could they? That would prove to me they have lost their way on build...

Would love to know exactly how much they're making out of the machines. If we accept that we are not going to grow that revenue stream (or maybe slightly at the margin) then the PR win alone with the local community and members from getting rid of them could end being worth a multiple in value to t...

Re: What's wrong with Dunstan
Might be time to rotate Acres with Dunstan. Yes, worth a thought Acres doesn't play inside mid role. Maybe Curren or Minchy. Maybe we need some outside class instead,. Also, just because he doesn't play that role doesn't mean that he can't. Not saying can't, he may develop that side of his game but...
