IMHO the reasons we are playing so well are: (1) Fit and healthy squad. I cant recall the last time we had so few players on the injured list and most of our top 10 players (except Max) have played nearly every game. It makes a big difference - compare Hawthorn injury riddled this year vs mostly fit...

People complain that we don't get our due respect. Every week we have threads talking about how our opposition is no good and they're supported by a bunch of ferals. Adelaide's a good team. They're well drilled and have a lot of underrated players. They play Docklands very well. They have a couple ...

I live in Adelaide .. I have football club membership + social club membership. I see about 3 home and away games a year in the flesh, I always go see the Saints play in the finals. If we make the GF, my $295 is money well spent. I was a football club member (but not social club) in 97 and the ticke...

you would have to say that the blues will have the edge in the pre game planning as Harves would know all our players strengths and weaknesses and also would be familiar with the majority of the game plan. will be interesting to see if Lyon throws in a couple of red herrings to throw them off the sc...

Geelong have a pretty potent 2 prong forward line in Podsiadly and Lonergan Max to take Podsi and Goose on Lonergan Id say Pretty fortuitous to have Max in the side. Podsiadley is a star on his day so then that will be a good barometer for where Max is on the scale of readiness to come back into th...

I see two potential outcomes: Bring Raph in for Gram - play Raph in defense and move Ray up onto the wing. Bring Goose in for Gram - play Goose as a key defender, switch Fisher/Blake to the 3rd tall defender and move Ray up onto the wing. Either way, Ray seems the obvious player to move up onto the...

RL has all players beleiving if they do their job and are fully fit then they will keep their spots. This is the healthiest I have seen the club for a while from an attitutude perspective. Unless your are 100% fit and a proven player you will have to earn your spot.Max will definately play for Sandy...

Fact - Adelaide Crows always a hard team to beat - very well drilled team. Fact - I hate Crows more than any other team. Fact - our recent record against them has been ok. We are definately a chance tonight. I hate saying this so early in the season - but beating the Crows at home after the form the...

funny - I was watching the game and thinking I would post a thread along the same lines as this topic !!! Reiwoldt sems to play FF more like a proper FF .. and Kosi seems to like the space at CHF. Is it time to swap them ? I cant see where else Kosi can play - the game seems to have passed him by as...

And, in 1966: Australia and the US upped the number of troops they sent to the Vietnam war (and both countries are set to do the same again in Afghanistan in 2009) There was a civil war in Sudan (and in 2009 there still is). I'm stating the bleeding obvious - but they were all very differnet types of players. Dont underestimate Burkie - Burkie was one of the greatest in and under players our club has ever produced. My challenge to you is to name 3 better in and under players who have played for us. Harvey - pure consist...

hard to go past that list .. was Round 6 2004 vs Lions the game where Troy Schwarze sealed it with a long bomb running goal ? .. I was at that game and stil lget goosebumps thinking about it. 2005 QF vs Crows is probably my favourite of that lot - to be in the crowd and watch the Saints go in with a...

Agreed, the game has evolved from 'set positions' to 'matchups'. Many will not really appreciate what a great player Max has been until he retires and they witness the number of different players used to cope with the variety of players Max has taken and beaten over the years. Spot on on both points

Heyne certainly has the buzz about him. I don't like his high ball-drop - I think it could cause him a few problems in the pressure of senior footy - but everything else about him has me excited. I havent seen any footage of Heyne but is the high ball drop Aussie Jones like ? if not who would you c...
