The Pies are overrated IMO. The players are overrated, but Malthouse and the club in general have done brilliantly with a 'reasonable' list. I agree that there are no all-Australians there, no real superstars, but a decent list of hardworking players being given every support by their club, and loo...

We have a list that, with a little tweaking, is more than capable of repeated top 4 finishes. We just need to focus the club on giving them the opportunity to do that. Beyond clearing a debt, what vision or footy focus have we seen from the current admin? They are fractured, frustrated, bitchy, and ...

What we want are keen sponsors, who love the Saints, love the way we look after them, want to stick with us and pay top dollar to be associated with us. This is an important area (especially if revenue is any sort of priority) and yet the current admin can't seem to make it work. And while we are a...

Firstly, if you are turning over $15-$20m a year then clearing a $3.5m debt over 5 or 10 years shouldn't be such a stretch. There are folks in Toorak with mortgages that big. Secondly, exactly how does clearing our debt mean that we can't give our sponsors the respect they deserve? Surely if revenue...

You ask since when have we not gone into a season without a major sponsor, and again, i dont disagree. We have a long history of financial trouble and turmoil with sponsors. The difference is, the board were under no pressure from anyone else to get a sponsor. Nobody was calling for future proposit...

Dunno about all this, but in my personal and business life, I don't do the next thing until I clear my debts and that doesn't happen overnight. As Butters and his crowd finally got the debt sorted this year, I expect it would take a few years to start building the next phase. I don't want to see th...

His repeated catchcry of '2 months of turmoil', while it may have some truth to it, also smacks of emotional blackmail. RB would clearly prefer something swift based on paperwork (where he presumably sees himself as strong), rather than drawn out and decided by a vote (where he's clearly in some kin...

Heard a brief grab from Demitirou this morning that he thought it wasa worthwile offer for the AFL to look ata business plan.....so that the current Board could walk away and thus speed up the process... So you think that Butterss intends this to be a way for him to walk away whilst 'saving face'? ...

Failing to vote is the same as voting for the same thing to continue. I think if a potential alternative presents itself, and it appears to be legitimate, then you should check it out and do your bit to make sure the hammer falls the best way in your opinion. Regarding compulsory voting in federal e...

I have no problem with ego. We need a bit of ego. It works alright for Collingwood. As long as with the ego you also have the balls to back yourself. I don't think Butterss has balls. He has ego in spades when it comes to having a public spat with his old mate, but he has no balls to stand up to the...

That is a terrible position to take. Failing to vote is a cop-out.joffaboy wrote:I am coming more and more to the conclusion that neither deserve a vote.
Ultimately one side will win control of our club, so if you care about the club you need to work out which side it should be and vote accordingly.

With Vodaphone there was a conflict of interest with the Luke Ball sponsorship, now Luke's sponsorship isn't new so who knows if that is an excuse to get out or not. Vodafone were apparently furious that the Saints did not disclose Ball's prior arrangement with Telstra. IMO Vodafone had every right...

When you get to a point, you always look at how the next step is to be achieved. And you act accordingly. Interesting you should say that TTT. So you would sack the coach that gets us to a prelim, yet retain the board that fails to get us into the 8? How very interesting. You are right that questio...

This Fox talk sounds to me like anti-SKFF propaganda. It is entirely possible that Fox approves of the new ticket, but to suggest he is involved is a big call and I'd like to see some evidence. Burkey flat-out denied it last night, and if there was any collusion between Fox and Westaway surely that ...

Can some one explain what all the hoo haa was about NB helping Melbourne choose it's coach? Doesn't seem to bother me. But hutch went after it like a duck to water. Hutchy was trying to imply that Burkey was shady and underhanded. To be honest, I thought it was a fair point to raise, and I don't th...

On the issue of sponsorship, who would be the least desirable club to sponsor at the moment? I reckon we wouldn't be too far down the list. We have one player so naughty he gets rubbed out for 7 weeks. Several players appearing in court for assault / sexual assault. A president that won't stop fight...

im pretty sure that Telstra wont want to sponsor us, only due to the fact rival telecommunications carrier Vodafoen already sponsors us! I think you might have missed the news ILNR - Vodafone are 'rethinking' their sponsorship of the Saints and are very dark at us for not telling them that Luke Bal...
