Personally I felt quite uncomfortable at 1/4 time. Collingwood were beating us at our own game and really pressuring us into making some awful mistakes. Even though we were up at the first break, it felt a bit to me like we were lucky they couldn't capitalise. I think this was what impressed mt the...

I have tried a few times to buy GA tickets online using my saints membership card in the AFL/Club Membership section and keep getting "no tickets available" but i can buy them in the general admission section which I don't want to do because I shouldn't have to pay. This is very frustratin...

Get back on board mate, the sainters are flying and footy is fun again!!!! On a serious note its a bloody disgrace that we are struggling to get more than 30,000 members. I shudder when I see that both Nth and Melbourne have more members than we do.

Thought he was our worst I'm afraid, had no impact and is the worst kick in the side. Takes an age to get the ball on to his boot. I would replace him with Raph if he is fit.

I work right across the road, so I will wander over at 5ish and save a few seats for the family and then head down to the bar for a few quiet ales. Looking forward to the game!!

armitage is only 20 years old, has only played 16 games and will only continue to improve. why not give him a run in the seniors instead of gwilt? yeah, they're different players, but armo on a half-forward flank would be as useful as gwilt as a target (not very) and better on the ground and kickin...

Hi SaintHomer, The game isn't designated as all-ticketed yet, if it is you have to pre-purchase a ticket before the game even if you are a member. This can be done through Ticketmaster from 10 days before the match (I think). The best idea would to keep an eye on this forum, saints66au normally orga...

Michael, the beer prices are the down side, you may need to get a small personal loan if you want to have a big session!!! The TV inside is a normal 106cm LCD wall mounted but it is right next to the open fireplace! The issue is most people sitting indoors weren't there for the game so there was not...

Republica bar - New Saints Venue Report

Ventured down to St Kilda Sea baths on Friday night to watch the game. Overall the venue was pretty good, they have one LCD TV inside and one massive LCD in an under cover courtyard. The majority of the saints supporters sat in the courtyard to watch the game. The Picture quality was fabulous but th...

The key differences that I can see, is that in the previous 2 seasons when we didnt have the ball we defended very deep, almost every player just fell back into our defensive 50 and waited for the opposition to move it in there. This year we are defending much higher up the ground, we are crowding t...

I have question marks over Gwilt. Definately over Eddy. McQualter still. I worry about Dawson if we can't continue our midfield dominance. I agree with all of those except Mini, he has been nothing short of sensational this year, he is seriously tough, almost suicidal on his attack on the ball and ...

Jones will get either Cooney or Griffen
Bakes will get Akermanis
Mini to Cross
Gilbo should take Hahn, who always gets away from us
Blake to Minson when he goes forward
Fisher to Johnson

I don't want to put a dampener on this, but I wonder how many other clubs have this partnership?
We are the ONLY club mentioned on their website and they are only promoting our games.

In the practice game this year we went in without King and Gards, Lade and Brogan dominated and we got smashed. It has been the key to their dominance over us for a while now.

Goddard is a much better decision maker but look at the disparity in AFL games - 117 to 30.
Not to mention the fact that Goddard probablt started kicking a footy from the time he could walk and playing in organised games from about 8 whereas Jimmy only started playing as a teenager.

With Gwilt it is his ability to "read" and anticipate the play. The good news is you can teach a guy to read the play and this will also come from game time and experience but I dont think you can teach someone to kick like Gwilt, that is a natural gift. Once he gets 50 games under his be...

Gwilt Vs Goddard - Who is the better kick?

Its been widely accepted that BJ is the best kick at the club and one of the best kicks in the comp, but after watching Jimmy Gwilt this year I would have to say that comparing both of them on their preferred foot, Gwilt is probabably a more penetrating kick and maybe even more accurate. The 60 metr...
