fisher in the middle?

I like the intent but surely fisher is better used and needed for us in the backline than the middle.

He was required last night, although some thought young Tom was good last night, Sam should have gone back and taken responsibility for dawes or cloke....

His midfield experiment should be exactly that......he is one of tje premier backs in the afl....can give bite in the middle, but a better defender

cos the opposition were no good last game so we could get away with sub optimal.

Top clearances last night were Steven on six followed by Fisher, Milne and Dempster on four. WTH happened to our midfield?

Because we won.

I started a thread on this two weeks ago.

Joey was moved forward, Dal continued playing in defence.

Our mids rarely get first use, can't help.

It's been actually been an ongoing issue, highlighted by Ross after every game.

You just get exposed more against the comps best.

The problem is that we only have ONE Sam Fisher !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Here's a thought - what about Fisher at FF?

At least Siposs would get the 3rd best defender and have half a chance..

We are trying to address the centre clearance debarcle atm.

We cant buy a clearance and in fairness Lyon is trying everything to solve it.

Oh for a mid like Judd who wins it then spreads from congestion..

That's the nuts and bolts of it. I know he's our premier back man but he's almost more valuable as a mid right now, given our inability to win contested footy. Strange but true.

Raph will play half back next week and Chips will continue to provide drive from the midfield.

And in the meantime the opposition will continue to show the world we have the worst spine in the comp and with no decent replacements being nurtured

Saints looking like a bottom 4 team in 2024.
