a month ago we had a scene in "prisoner" where fletch was having a kick to kick with his son who was wearing a Stk Jumper with 3 on the back (cira 1979 so more then likely a young Bruce Duperouzel fan ) maybe we should put together a list of movies/TV and even Covers of records that feature our great jumper
I know Jimmy barnes wore a StKilda jumper on 'Countdown" but surely nothing beats what his brother did on his LP Cover
Someone involved in the production of Neighbours over the years must have a been a die hard Saints fan. I recall the character "Joe Mangel" back in the 80's sporting a Saints jumper. Maybe Peter O'Brien was also in an episode wearing Saints colours as well?
Kate Langbroek is a St.Kilda tragic and she used to be one the screenwriters. Perhaps it was her influence?

Thank God Toadie and his kid are Bombers fans - can't stand them
hahaha... I haven't seen that program in years, but that sure doesn't surpirse me. He was always going to be a Bomber or a Filth supporter, I guess.

I was advised that up until a few years back former Saint (and Demon) Chris Hollow was also a scriptwriter.
And an early character on the show, Joe Mangels, was definitely portrayed as a keen Saints supporter.
I thought at the time the actor who played that part was in actuality a saints supporter
I would have guessed they just ask the actor... maybe you can ask your contacts...

Interesting that you note that Chris Hollow was also writing for Neighbours. A bit of a Triple R link there. I once got back home very late one night and put the radio on and Chris Hollow was doing a Triple R graveyard shift. I picked up the phone and had a chat with him. He seemed a really good bloke and had some great taste in music to boot. This was the same time Kate Langbroek was doing the Breakfasters Show every weekday morning.
To my dismay, I once saw the bloke who played Joe Mangel wearing a Richmond scarf during a televised match, after there was a cut to an obligatory celebrity in crowd shot.
I once saw actor Noah Taylor in another obligatory celebrity crowd shot wearing a Saints scarf though.

the Saints link was on show again during this week
sign in the background and alluded tio by character said -Saints fans welcome- character suggested at least it would keep pies fans away...
The Joe Mangel character was a stand-up comedian called Mark Little, who i seem to recall used to have a gig on rrr, as well, back in the old days...
" I am a loyal person and at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know I am a St Kilda person for life. That was something that has heavily influenced my decision.â€

God, I used to know Mark Little quite well.
Not sure if he was a Saints supporter, but we used to hang around in St Kilda in the '80s.

* Finey;
* Rhys Muldoon;

* Molly.
