Gary AYRES

Post: # 1136413Post WinnersOnly »

I we happen to lose Ross LYON IMO Gary AYRES is the perfect replacement as coach. He has had sucess at where ever he has coached and his current role at Port Melbourne he seems to be able to nurture the younger players and get the best out of them. He has recently been quoted as saying he believes he is coaching better now than he ever has!

If Ross is to stay which I hope he does - he could do with the experience of someone like AYRES to support him as an assistant.

AYRES other benefits is he wouldn't cost the world and would provide a great handle on players from the state leagues - he may help us pick up one or two smokeys.

Can we afford to keep him supplied with hair product?

We would have to.

I know his brother and he has no hair, and believe me, it's not a pretty sight!

As I said in another post, I would be interested in pursueing Wayne Carey as a forward coach.
As much of a dick that he is, I think he could really help our forward structure and Roo with his kicking.
Also think Neil Craig may be worth looking at as an assistant.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Lloyd, has offered his services to assist Roo...why not taking him up on it. Carey would be asset.

Gary Ayres has built up an excellent and well deserved reputation for turning contenders into pretenders.

The building of Port Melbourne into the VFL Powerhouse it is today was done through the hard work of guys like Gary Brice (I think he is the Secretrary) !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
