Flog maybe. But is he wrong? We are now behind the 8 ball.
A knee-jerk reaction would be to go out straight away and offer up a big contract to someone like Malthouse. (Though if Roos changed his mind I'd have him in a hearbeat).

Putting Harvey in reassures us as club members that there is some stability at the club despite the last 24 hours.

None of the best turned coaching appointments of the last few years have been the initial favourites, so there is no need for us to stampede and try to grab whoever the media think is the current frontrunner.

Coaches appointed in the last 10 years to get their club to a Grand Final

Chris Scott* (appointed 2010)
Lyon (2006)
Clarkson (2004)
Roos (2002)

absolutely..

get him to lead pre season running sessions, and see how we run out games next season..

actions speak louder than words right now..
No disrepect..

But Banger was an athletic freak with an iron will.

He actually over-trained himself at some stages and became less injury prone when he actually started to follow training advice.

I know we all want to reach for security blankets tonight but he isnt the man to coach us.
Your probably right, but in an hour of such darkness, it's nice to have a familiar figure who is a champion of our club in charge

do our utmost to get quality around him. he's a champion and loved and if he thinks he's up to it and club thinks he's up to it, then hearsay shouldn't stand in his way. he's honest and knows himself.

What a turnaround.

Looking forward to banger fronting the media tomorrow.

Head coach is basically management of momentum ,

.... onya banger
..... sharp assistants needed , all on the same page , either way in modern footy
ie ... with 'another' new coach or not

If Harvey can motivate them I am all for it.

He is someone to rally around and means more to this club than some random stand in. He is respected because he has earnt it.

Wouldn't mind seeing what he can do as Head Coach, perhaps bring some Carlton attacking play from his experience there. It never suited RL's game plan so maybe we will see some exciting footy next season.

Just wondering, how often do new coaches keep the old assistant coaches? Harves might not be in a good spot out of all this.

No problem with Harvey taking over in the interim but my gut feeling is that there are better options available elsewhere long-term.

That, plus I'd rather see him remain as an assistant for a while yet.

Agree with this completely.

As someone mentioned earlier the main job will be keeping this group together and can't think of anyone better than harves to do that.

Well lets get him. How old is he? And what club did he play for?
