INTRA-CLUB Game. Feb 10? !!

Post: # 1166914Post Eastern »

This is another tradition taken away from us in 2011 by our previous coach. Lets hope that Scotty re-instates this tradition for all of us tragics who will be hanging all summer.

If someone from the club is reading this, 5.00pm is the traditional starting time, Moorabbin WAS the traditional venue and we understand that this may not be possible so I'd like to suggest Frankston Park so that the club can connect with the community as stated many times already by our new coach, Scotty !!

well they may need it as they are not getting time to take an O/S trip so will need match practice with new game routines.

Stupid idea for Lyin to cut the intraclub last year. Maybe it was due to the rushed move to the LHC at the time?

Frankston Park at sunset on a Friday or Saturday night would be great marketing for the club and bring the supporters back together in a positive event. Maybe even follow with a bbq and drinks on the pier with a few of the coaching staff.

It would be a great PR/Meet & Greet opportunity for Coach, Players, Staff and importantly, Supporters !

The Club should not miss this opportunity. :!: :!:

The past 3-4 years before this year drew crowds of between 3-5,000 to these games. Really good atmosphere with players staying out on the ground after after the game signing autographs, having pics taken, talking to kids etc !!

Absolutely agree. Was wonderful to pop down to Moorabbin and stand on the old terraces, drink a beer or a glass of wine and watch the boys strut their stuff after a long day at work.

A return of that concept would be wonderful.

Haha, I remember that NAB cup game.

It was about 40...nobody scored for ages, who'd have thought we'd make the GF based on that 'spectacle'

I used to go to those games every year before I moved interstate. Great atmosphere ! .. my fondest memory was the year after the superdraft when we got our first look at the recruits from that draft - Matt Maguire, NDS, Montagna, X Clarke etc. I was like a kid in a candy shop !.

If the club announces it early enough, then I bet there will a bunch of interstate punters like me who will organise time off to get to the game. After all , Saints v Saints - we cant lose

Would love an intra club game back at Moorabbin. Used to love going and getting an early taste of footy at twilight.
I could also take my little boy and bore him with my memories!!
It would mean a lot to me to take him to a game at Moorabbin.
If not Moorabbin, then I'd support Frankston park as well. Sounds like a great idea to me.

Exactly my sentiments re the kids!
