St.Kilda vs Fremantle

Post: # 1183814Post hungry for a premiership »

We have our traditional rivals. Obviously collingwood is one, the cats another and the bulldogs too.

Now, circumstance has given birth to a new rival to be hated and beaten: Fremantle. Everyone in football circles will be watching next year to see which side goes better: St.Kilda or Fremantle. It is essential that we wallop them by 10+ goals in round 4 next year.

RL gave an interview on Perth radio and now the freo fans love him. They're saying things like, and I quote, "I am just falling in love with listening to this guy speak, so eloquent and switched on," and "You get more of an idea of the inner workings of the club from one minute of him talking compared to 20 minutes of Harvey's babble."

Yes, he's a good coach, yes, he speaks well, but the bottom line is we are a better club than Fremantle, full stop, more culture, history, passionate supporters, authenticity, better colors, made a much bigger contribution to the game, more on-field success, we are better, full stop.

We currently have the wood on them. We only play them once next year. I for one will be disgusted if we don't win that match by a minimum of 5 goals, and well may our dominance over them continue indefinitely, for more joy is to be extracted from beating them now than it ever has before.

St.Kilda vs Fremantle overall record:

Played: 26

St.Kilda: 15
Fremantle: 11

They can suck it.

They have a quality group of mids however all their talls are older than ours (for comparisons sake).

The list is stupidly lopsided and will have no quality talls available once they midfielders come into prime.

Personally I have to disagree with this. This attempted 'us vs. Freo rivalry' is almost embarrasing. I loved Ross Lyon as our coach, but now he's gone, I've forgotten about him and moved on. I know less irritating Freo supporters, (in fact, I don't know any) than any other club. If I could chose one club to guarantee a win against next year, it certainly wouldn't be them.

The list would go something like: cats, pies, bummers (possibly 1), Carlton cheats, hawks, swans, giants, dogs........just my opinion.

disappointing cuddles and harvey aren't there.

Lyon is a quality coach, and freo have a brilliant list.

I expect freo to lose the grand final this year :D :D

Personally I dont hold a grudge against Freo for getting Ross and Zac. In fact, I reckon they have done us a favour.
Sydney on the other hand, with the underhanded taking of Tommy Walsh, following the pattern of taking Barry Hall and Plugger, well I believe the Lakeside competition between the two clubs is alive and well. They are the club we should be trying to get on top of.

Would have thought it was obvious that he bats for the other side

I personally hope we smash Freo. Yes I do feel revengeful against Lyin, I hope the crowd really give it to him, what a creep. But I do agree that in the end I think he has done us a favour and stuff the Swans as well.

As for Dawson being gay, that is so wrong.

What an infantile idiotic comment to make

Dawson isn't gay ( as far as I have been informed), and even if he was gay, does that make him less of a person or footballer in your homophobic eyes?

One of the toughest front row forwards I ever saw in RL was gay. Dont think too many tried to taunt him about it on field. I know Gordon Tallis (another very tough forward) openly stated he never would because he was afraid of being smashed by Roberts.

But Dawson is gay if that lowers his musculanity in your juvinile mind.

Lance or James??

I don't hate Fremantle. They also have a strong list.
Would rather pencil in a win against Ess, Coll, Carl, Hawker, WB, Adel, Melb, Port, Rich & NM - all before the Docker

How did you get the idea that Ralphy was "homophobic"? Or do you just like making nothing into something?

I thought it was funny. I have never heard that before. Well before my 4th birthday.

+1. They are our traditional enemy for so many reasons: including the original geography. Some present day Sainters fans seem actually to like the Swans. They are quislings and should be summarily despatched.

Have to agree I despise the swans. One thing you don't really get an idea of living in Melbourne is how feral their supporters are. I went to a couple of games at the SCG in the late 90's and I have to say their supporters are complete and utter shockers. Plus we've played them heaps in finals.
