there's no great expanse of a car park, parking seems to be in and around the local streets, there will be some inside the grounds I'm pretty sure i heard that tonight. Council are recommending people use the shuttle bus service.

There's a few trees, that about it for shelter apart from the grandstand that would hold a few hundred and the clubrooms that is for officials, guests, Magpie members etc

should take you less than an hour and a half if you go up to the highway at benalla and up from there. or else take the back road up through the king valley which is a nice drive but will take two hours.

Benalla is 1.5 hours from Kalkallo Servo, north of Craigieburn, Wang another 25 mins on.

Parking is limited at the venue.

Park-and-ride services will be available on game day with buses running from the (download a map below):

•Ford Street Bus Stop, Wangaratta CBD;
•Avian Park Race Track, Newman Street; and
•Olympic Pool, Swan Street, with the possibility of more bus points being announced as ticket sales continue.
“We encourage as many people as possible to take advantage of the park-and-ride services, which are FREE if you have a pre-purchased ticket to the game,” said Ms McAlpin.

“The park-and-ride services will ease congestion in the car parks surrounding the Showgrounds and provide a smoother departure after the final siren.”

Sold out!

Maybe they should move it to Etihad to fit more in lol!

Seriously this is an excellent result, shame the cash goes to the AFL not us, low overheads you'd think in the bush.

Sold out 11k. Originally was slated for 15k then last week that changed to 12k. Good result would be a very tight squeeze trying to get 15k in there!!!!

Looks like we've basically gone with a full strength squad, from those we have available:

Jason Gram (1)
Arryn Siposs (2)
Jack Steven (3)
Clint Jones (4)
Ben McEvoy (5)
Lenny Hayes (7)
Leigh Montagna (11)
Nick Riewoldt (12)
Adam Schneider (13)
Jarryn Geary (14)
Tom Ledger (15)
Brendon Goddard (18)
Sam Gilbert (19)
David Armitage (20)
Ahmed Saad (21)
Farren Ray (22)
Justin Koschitzke (23)
Sean Dempster (24)
Sam Fisher (25)
Nick Dal Santo (26)
Jason Blake (27)
Rhys Stanley (28)
Brett Peake (30)
Tom Simpkin (31)
Terry Milera (32)
Dean Polo (34)
Jamie Cripps (35)
Beau Wilkes (37)
Stephen Milne (44)

http://www.saints.com.au/news/newsar...8/default.aspx

In: Montagna (11), Dal Santo (26)
Out (from last week's squad): Ross (6), Crocker (9), Newnes (16), Winmar (17), Shenton (39), Archer (42), Curren (43)

ESSENDON
4. Jobe Watson, 5. Brent Stanton, 7. Leroy Jetta, 11. David Zaharakis, 12. Stewart Crameri, 14. Sam Lonergan, 15. Courtney Dempsey, 16. Tayte Pears, 17. Jake Melksham, 18. Michael Hurley, 19. David Hille, 20. Henry Slattery, 21. Dyson Heppell, 22. Jake Carlisle, 23. David Myers, 26. Cale Hooker, 27. Luke Davis, 28. Elliott Kavanagh, 29. Alwyn Davey, 30. Patrick Ryder, 31. Dustin Fletcher, 32. Travis Colyer, 34. Kyle Hardingham, 37. Kyle Reimers, 43. Michael Hibberd, 44. Tom Bellchambers, 47. Cory Dell'olio

Maybe if the ground is flooded they couldplay "water footy" (as opposed to water polo) where you score by handballing the ball through for a goal and there is a 15m limit on how far you can swim with the ball, before having to handball it to someone else?

newnes played most of the first game. curren played about the last 4 minutes of the second game. crocker and archer definitely didn't get a run.

The in's and outs were the changes from our squad from the week before. Crocker and Archer were in the squad for our two games last week, but didn't play.
